This is why people are losing respect for the police...

Ah yes, famously lefties routinely join hard right wing parties, that’s definitely a thing.
The Tories weren't hard right by any stretch of the imagination. A small number in the previous Tory government were right of centre and even fewer now. If they'd been hard right they would have been removing mosques and deporting millions of non English. You need to stop using the hard right term for anyone that is right of centre or not a wet leftie liberal.

Controlling the media. anti union laws, and protest laws, every single economic policy that favoured business over people, the direct funnelling of public funds into private corporations, anti migrant rhetoric, erosion of public institutions, brexit, the campaign for brexit...etc.

You might think the last tory government were centrists, because the overton window has shifted to the right over the last few decade. the mid point between Labour, and the current gaggle of tories is Thatcher. Labour, under Starmer are centre right.

Not with the lefties opposing leaving the ECHR and some of those lefties were also in the Tories. It's a broad church after all.
Are yes the ECHR which is responsible for all our problems, makes hundreds of judgements against us all the time etc etc ….. only it doesn’t it finds against the UK in a tiny number of cases (1 in 2023 and an average of 4 a year since 2012) ……. Yet another tired right wing narrative blaming an ‘other’ for all our problems to deflect from their failings.

Remember the human rights you are wishing away are your human rights as well and one day you may need them!

Except if we wanted to deport thousands of immigrants that shouldn't be here then the ECHR would be involved in thousands of cases!

The Tories were already working on a UK bill of
rights. This could have been an almost identical copy and paste from the ECHR, except it would have allowed us to tweak whatever was necessary to prevent the legislation being used to prevent immigrant deportations.

They look like the models of bikes deliveroo and ubereats riders are always breaking the law on...

they are literally asking for information about such bikes.....

do they not have eyes?????? Those delivery bikes are a menace to people on foot too and illegal on public roads since they go faster than 15.5mph without the assist cutting out. some of them don't even pedal

I think you’ve confused hard right with fascist.

“Heh, but they didn’t commit flagrant human rights abuses, just mini little ones, nor did they bomb brown religious buildings in their own country so they are hardly hard right” isn’t really the argument that the insanely hard right laws and capitalist robbery we saw weren’t hard right wing policies.

How does that commenter know these aren’t bikes from Uber eats drivers? Really odd “whataboutism”.

The fact only 4 were seized?

when you can stand near a city centre and watch dozens of them going past.

I live about 1 mile from the cities centre on a main bus route and see them constantly passing by

Seems like the police are ignoring them because they are being used for work and not "fun" they are still a menace

It’s far more likely that they can’t catch people riding at speed due to the risk of death, but somehow got these bikes otherwise during a different kind of police job.

None of my food deliveries are served by illegal e-bikes, it’s mopeds, legal e-bikes and push bikes. I do live in a very wealthy area in a city centre, but I’m not blind to the poverty some of the Uk faces, I’ve never found e-bikes a menace.

They have to go into the city centre and stop to pick up food, it can't be that hard to inspect the bikes.

In Switzerland and Germany they do Random checkpoints sometimes even on normal bicycles to check they are safe for the road with good condition brakes etc

Then they post an article stating how many unsafe bicyles were taken off the road.

they just can't be bothered over here to enforce any laws and turn a blind eye.

What on gods green earth are you going on about?
Are you using some sort of Poundland ChatGPT to use for your answers?
The mind boggles at some of the nonsense you post on here.
