Well he wasn't going to be criticising the Muslim community for rioting was he?

I'm surprised he was as direct as he was really, I thought he'd shy away from it entirely.

The Palestinian protesters are probably cheering, not realising when the police suddenly starts clamping down on their protests they will find themselves at the butt end of these powers too.

He gets it completely.

Far right thugs organised a jolly to riot in the face of a mass stabbing of children. They turned up with crates of booze and attacked at random with zero regard or reason.

To try and conflate that with largely peaceful protesters is disingenuous or stupid at best.

I dislike Kier immensely, but that was a much more intelligent response than any performative politics of the last 10 years.

Was there any mention of a stance on people carrying blades? Such as mandatory sentences etc?

Not that I suppose it would have helped in this instance.

Absolutely this, in trying to keep order, I reckon he's potentially rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way.

Those saying it was far right thugs, yes, there's plenty of thugs, yes it was a shocking act of disorder that should never have happened but imho, your average, working class brit seems to have had enough.

This is all I keep hearing at work from customers talking in reception and chatting to us.
People just seem to have had enough at the moment.
Just to add, our customers are not rich or posh or any such thing, just normal hard working people who just want to get on with life, you know, the average working Brit.

Apart from congregating with a load of racist scum. The worst part of that video is watching the police just standing there pouncing about. They should've had the water cannon out and baton charged those flag pumpers. The UK police are far too soft

I've not heard a single person saying 'had enough' means throwing bricks at the police but maybe you mix with different people..
