This is why people are losing respect for the police...

Should have had this storm yesterday, I doubt the rioters would have been so keen if it was ******* down!

Could be another interesting night, The rain hasn't fallen up north, so i would imagine people will be out in mass again.

The PM has a tough job on now, what does he do? in reality what can he do?

Nothing, make sure the police are on overtime and let the justice system do its thing. Don't envy him.

I would’ve taken a slighter different approach to the speech though, more considerate, ‘we know each and every one is hurting but this isnt the answer, i’ll sort it out etc etc’. Not ‘you’re all right wing thugs, you’ll feel the force’.. I’m exaggerating a bit but thats what I took away from it.

Strange goings on in London today with a march of Muslims basically shutting down parts of London with no warning from the TFL?!?

Apparently the police only knew on the day but the organisers informed them over a week ago...

That view is all dependent where you live, I'm from Bradford, and there has been a massive immigration mismanagement for more than 14 years.

There's plenty of places in the UK where 10 of thousands migrants have settled and created their own communities, and there's nothing with that, until they setup no go areas for other uk residents.

Far right thugs organised a jolly to riot in the face of a mass stabbing of children. They turned up with crates of booze and attacked at random with zero regard or reason.
I think they were provoked by fake news, by the releasing of a false name. Then when they got there the knife guy appearing too.

To try and conflate that with largely peaceful protesters is disingenuous or stupid at best.
A majority of people don't like the Palestinian protests. Yes the cause is valid, and yes everyone were supporting the first few protests. But now they are taking the pee. They aren't just happening in London. They are happening all over the UK, at most major towns. It must be costing the government millions in policing costs.

Eventually they are going to have to stop. I think we know what reaction that will cause.

I dislike Kier immensely, but that was a much more intelligent response than any performative politics of the last 10 years.
It was intelligent because everyone is looking at the bogey EDL, that hasn't existed in over a decade. He's used a trigger word and many people are throwing their freedoms at him. He's played a blinder.

I'm from Bradford and think if you're only seeing Bradford as being run down in 2024 you're about 40 years late to the party. Bradford has been run down for about 30-40 years though with most middle class white people moving outside of he city before the 90s. In the 90s/00s, most areas of Bradford were considered no go areas for middle class people. Whether they were white areas or Pakistani areas.

Bradford Council has also been mismanaged very poorly too. But going back 150 years or so it was 1 of the most wealthy places on earth and you can tell that by walking through the local graveyards with how lavishly they spent on the headstones.

I'm curious which part of Bradford you're from. I've moved to Nottingham now, but lived there up until 2017. Still the best place in the country for a curry and I do miss that tbh.

From Low Moor, South Bradford. The Mrs and I are saving up to get out, Its not all too bad where i am, but my god the city center is an absolute dive now.

Thing is Bradford is not alone with these issues, if you don't live or have lived in these areas and see it first hand you've never believe it, and unfortunately (not for them) most have and never will see it and wont understand how frustrating it is too see their city or town being run into the ground by all the above.

Still the best place for a curry tho
