Thor: Love and Thunder

Even that movie isn't a train wreck IMO.

I only watched it once, at the cinema, so no idea if it holds up but I think Bale was one of the best things in it.

I do remember that the CGI Arnie at the end looked dreadful, even back then.

The movie was a trainwreck in the sense it barely had any actual terminators in it. It's set in a point of time where skynet is meant to be ruling the roost yet human style terminators are limited to a couple of t600's and the t800 making an appearence at the end. That could have been a much better movie than it ended up being, it was basically just traipsing across a mostly empty desert for a lot of it, yet still somehow managed to cost 200 million.

The cgi arniebot loooked reasonable for the time period:

This is the first time, well at least in the movies time line that Skynet had produced the T-800. Which we see as CGI Arnie near the end.

It was better than T3 and Genisys. I liked
Dark Fate though.

They could have filled the movie out with more t600's then, theres like 3 or 4 in the entire movie and they were meant to be the prevelant model at the time.

Lol

folks I know put it squarely in mid tier maevel movie territory, is the reason it's being scored low because
she-thor dies and the usual review crowd didn't like it?
Biggest negative I've read is that the humour pretty much falls flat, oh and Bale is head and shoulders above everyone else acting wise in the film.

Typical Bale then. I'll watch it for him.

Off to watch it Saturday morning, usually first shows are nearly sold out for Marvel stuff, this screening not even 1/4 full, granted some people probably staying away from cinema again due to covid cases rising again.

Thought it was ok, probably 7/10 but would like to see it again. Only concern is that maybe it’s a little forgettable.

Not very ‘spoilery’ spoilers but hidden as I know people have different tolerance levels for this:

Pros:
- Reasonable run time of 2hrs,
- Quite funny, depends how much you like Waititi’s humour. Korg and Russell Crowe probably funniest,
- Standard Marvel good special effects,
- Christian Bale.

Cons:
- As I said above, maybe forgettable. Doesn’t necessarily move the ‘Universe’ on that much,
- Tessa Thompson can’t decide what accent to do (she’s super beautiful though so I forgive her :p ),
- A slight feeling of making up the ‘rules’ of the Universe as they go,
- Was this movie God of War?

Got to enjoy it at an empty screening this morning and I absolutely loved it

9/10 for me. Not the best Marvel film by any stretch but it’s a fantastic Thor film and Bale was just excellent as Gor, really made the film

Humour was great but Waititi’s humour is right up my street. Action was good and the cinematography was fantastic.

Will definitely go see it again
