1. it have no SLI fingers just disabled NVLink, a new family of gaming cards would have addressed this but it is not worth it for a one off.

It is kind of comical that SLI fingers are still a required thing, but then you could say the same about requiring an 8x slot. Nvidia should really fix both of these flaws on the next gen of gaming cards, nobody is going to put them in a PCI-E 1.0 board anyway.

I wouldn't argue with that but being NVidia, if there is a market they can sell to, I wouldn't be surprised to see a stripped down Volta card come March time. I did umm and arr on getting one but gaming performance isn't much over Pascal from what I can see and as you say, DX12 isn't in full flow yet.

It would not surprise me if NVidia launched a 16gb HBM2 version of the Titan V in 6 months time as the one thing that stands out with the 12gb version is it loves memory clockspeed and bandwidth when overclocked.

Looks lilke a compute monster, should be at that price !!

Hope this has no reflection on GTX Volta cards, gaming performance being what it is.

Although I imagine stripped down non compute cards with much higher clocks, would smoke this for gaming. Have a bad feeling we're a good 4-6 months away from any new gen gaming cards though. AMD probably another 6 months after Nvidia. GPU space seems really slow these days.

NVidia releasing a Volta card at consumers makes Jen a dbag and totally deserved of Bluntwrapped's anger. I guess he just bought a Pascal card and it is now obsolete because Volta is out?

Lol I bought a used 1080 a month or so ago after selling my 980 and block. It’s gotten to the point where the fun of full loop custom watercooling, is subjected to and deminished by the short lived profit maximising strategy of Nvidia. Think core clocks, locked voltages in the context of watercooling. The only reason for this is to ensure sales across the range up to the ridiculously overpriced 1080ti’s. How is this good for enthusiasts? Since when is enthusiasm determined singally on how much you’re willing to spend on a single product? The logic is screwed.

I don’t care about owning the latest and greatest tbh. What I do care about, is one lying dbag of a CEO, monopolising the market while everyone acts oblivious to what is going on.

My anger is sympathetic to the enthusiast community - not my own personal circumstance.

You expecting a totally new architecture this year?

A number of us on this forum think (guess) there will be a different architecture to Volta launched for gaming in 2018.

The Titan V is fast yes but it is only though brute force and apart from good DX12 support offers little that Pascal does not cover.

I used to full custom loop but am so lazy, I couldn't be bothered to anymore. I really don't care what is released and if I want it and it suits my budget, I will get it and I don't look at NVidia or AMD as family members or friends who actually care about me, I look at them like a business and deal with it. I love my tech and an enthusiast doesn't need to own the latest and greatest.... He/She enjoys what they have. Getting angry over a GPU is silly and I can meet for a man hug if you need it?

Would love to hear your opinion of Lisa Su then, after telling us all that Raja Koduri was going on a sabbatical till 2018. ;)

In fairness they only recently dropped the Geforce name from the Titans, they know full well that 99.99% of consumers still think of them as Geforce cards.

The vast majority of customers for this card will be universities, researchers (quite a lot of the customers so far are automotive industry) and Kaapstad.

For 99.99999% of consumers this card will have little impact.

The Titan V is just about as fast as 2 Pascal Titans @2160p on this bench.
