Either the HD is dead or the windows installation has been corrupted - try and format again.

Imagine if you had tried to sell pron with her in as well as another 70gb and then announced it to the whole internet, would get more than a dirty look

I've removed the 160GB "Porn Drive" so it's just running my boot drive.
Something is seriously wrong here I wish I hadn't bothered.

ROFL! Hilarious thread :D

This is as entertaining as the HARD drives (sorry, couldn't resist) section will ever get! :D

Another reason to create a comedy archive section.

Have you actually tried just deleting the individual files in windows?

I mean, get rid of the porn by deleting to recycle bin and then at least THAT's gone. I know it'd take a while but... just wondering if you've even tried.

Then format?

I thought electro-magnets are suppose to be strong enough to wipe or corrup all data on a HDD?

Can't you format it and write it over with 1s and 0s with a program... (can't remember:( )

Right, I've tried deleting the porn etc in windows. It deletes it, but if I refresh the folder it re-appears. Something isn't right there.

I've tried both a Quick Format, and a Full Format.
I have run DBAN, the data still exists.

Next, i'm trying to make a boot disk, load windows and try format there.

Wish me luck.

Ok, this might work. Go http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php and download the correct iso for your system. Set your BIOS to boot from CD and reboot with the iso correctly burnt (with nero or iso burning program). When it boots up you will be at a prompt saying "blah blah" but the important bit is where it says boot:
at this stage just press enter. When the GUI kicks in, find the correct drive and delete the partition and reformat as FAT32 or something, then delete the partition again. Reboot and check the HD :)

Am now trying this.
I have done nothing today except try to format this bloody HDD. Its boiling hot, I have so much to do and the drive will only profit £20 anyway.

Update: Seem to have killed my new NEC DVDRW by plugging in the molex whilst PC is switched on.. Now off to find another drive.
