Today's mass shooting in the US

last couple of shootings have all been with legally held firearms..dont see why this should be any different

the problem isnt the law, its that too many people already have guns thats its too late to do anything about it now..so they are now stuck with this problem

in this country the level of gun ownership was low and we knew who had them..so when the law changed they could do something about it

they cant do this in the States, so this is the new normal

Gun laws in California:

* castle doctrine
* open carry permitted
* concealed carry permitted
* no licence required to own a firearm
* vehicle carry permitted for handguns
* long guns not required to be kept securely when in transit
* firearm legislation enforced inconsistently across the state
* self defence is a valid reason for owning and bearing firearms
* no requirement to store firearms securely unless there is a chance that a child under 18 could gain access

It's a long term thing. They could announce a ban on sales of handguns and semi-automatics, or whatever, and say any owned ones need to be handed in or decommissioned in, say, 10 years. Give people chance to get over it.

I mean how objective does a source need to be when they literally go through the entire process of buying a gun? The process of buying a gun isn't a subjective matter

The process of buying a gun isn't a subjective matter

Really?

Are you sure?

Here's how easy it is to legally buy a semiautomatic gun in the US

Nevada law on background checks for gun purchases not enforced

Seems a better option than constantly seeing dead kids in schools.
it does for us...not for americans though

this is what they are prepared to sacrifice

after they could stomach Sandyhook they could stomach anything..that was the point if they were ever going to change...and they didnt...so screw them..this is entirely of their own making

How's this possible with California's strict gun laws?

So the above is considered strict by US gun laws? :confused:

:confused: Yes? :confused: Most populated areas you can't get a concealed carry license, there are strict controls on "assault weapons" aka semi-automatic rifles, you can't have guns where the barrels are too short, there's a very long list of restrictions in California. Of course there's nothing stopping someone who doesn't give a **** about the law, just the law abiding people he's gunning down.

Interesting how all the initial reports were that the gunman was of middle eastern origin and had a black beard,

Turns out that the shooter was a white former marine of US origin, interesting how this often happens - I suspect the media make it up to spice up the story and get more click revenue.
