Tomb Raider 2: Rise of the Tomb Raider Announced

if you like the game and your a proper gamer you would get it regardless of what console its on, there is plenty of games on all 3 systems to warrant buying a console to play it on, if needs be even 2nd hand console.

Ah, the you are only a 'proper' gamer if you buy all the consoles argument. Doesn't work like this for everyone. I won't being buying a xbone for this alone. I'd only be buying it when its cheap enough that it becomes an impulse buy, and thats not going to be for a while.

The press release from CD was not very well thought out. Essentialy pretending that its the best option for fans, when in truth its the best option for their investors (guaranteed profit is better than potential profit). I wish companies had the balls to be honest.

hahaha!

It makes very little sense to make a game for one platform only.
There is almost no development cost for games to be made multiplatform between Xbox One, PS4 and PC as they are both extremely similar underneath.

I am disappointed by this news. I understand consoles must have exclusives, but this should not be one of them. Tomb Raider has been multiplatform since the 1996 original.

Kaz Hirai has got a point, if MS/Crystal Dynamics are dumb enough to release this at a similar time to Uncharted 4, there's only going to be one winner.

This is such a BS move by Microsoft, they've essentially paid off a developer to make a game exclusive when it was originally announced as multi-platform. Either this is going to be a permanent exclusive, which is stupid because TR isn't a good enough game to be a major console seller, or it's a timed exclusive, which is still shady because it's tricking people into buying an XB1.

All this announcement has done is push me further away from buying an XB1 and made it more likely I'll buy a PS4.

bottom line is very few exclusive games will make as much money as multi platform releases

Titanfall2 is going to be multi platform...simply because you have more millions of potential customers

to have the cheek to then issue a statement fobbing off Ps4 customers making out like they are doing us a favour....

they can kiss my plums to be honest

Well that is in the console section, not sure how PC gamers are meant to find that.... SO this thread imo belongs here as well for the people who do not own consoles or view the console forum like myself.

I have no issue with developers making games for a specific platform when they're new IP but it's frustrating when it happens with existing franchises.
