Tomb Raider Thread

Rroff...........................WHAT did you just say? ._.

i dont understand all the tech talk haha :(

Basically AMD/ATi can inverse their polaron fields creating a flipped quantum flux integrator, something nVidia's reticulating splines technology can't do.

ok cheers. The only reason i ask i bought Max Payne 3 on retail since it was nice and cheap but it won't load in to steamworks library. Code just won't accept :(

I like having the steam library but like to have the media disk too.

Wasn't a steamworks game mate.

Both AMD and nVidia support the Direct X features used for tressFX so its unlikely to be locked down to one brand, unlike when features are implemented on say CUDA which is only supported on nVidia GPUs.

AMD's GPUs are better at doing a large number of less complicated calculations* whereas nVidia's are more suited to doing a smaller number of more complicated calculations and the type of processing used for TressFX is likely to favor doing lots of simple calculations at a time.

* AMD's GCN architecture has changed a bit in this regard towards more generalised compute units but that overcomplicates things.

Oh noes :( edit are you refering to MP3 or TR ?

How can you tell if you don't mind me asking.

PC gaming inconsistencies.

Usually says on the box if its Steamworks, something along the lines of "3rd Party DRM Internet Connection Required"

Max Payne 3 retail isnt a Steamworks sadly because of the Rockstar Social Club already ties the CD key down to the email address its register to.

Still no sign of a single PC review across the entire www :D

Ah sure, we're only PC owners after all

From what I can see from various sites, PC code has been delayed until release day.

Guessing as its Steam based they haven't bothered to give early access so PC reviews will end up being late.

Lara Croft’s traumatic gap-year adventure has been well received by our counterparts on console, and we were hoping to be able to start providing you with our impressions of the PC version today. Unfortunately, we’ve been told by Square Enix that code for the PC version won’t be issued until Tuesday, when the game goes on sale – so expect our verdict to fall in the latter half of next week.

Crystal Dynamics are reportedly unwilling to let the game out into the wild until it’s ready. Perhaps they’re worried about Lara’s PC-exclusive hair going haywire – we don’t know. Delays like this don’t always indicate a problem with the product, but they do prevent us from telling you one way or another before you lay down your hard-earned cash.

If your fingers are hovering over the pre-order button for Tomb Raider then we advise holding off until we’ve had a chance to check it out. One way or another, we’ll have some first impressions of the PC version up by midday GMT on Tuesday.

PCGamer, hmmm so what is this, what is the issue I wonder? something doesn't seem right, console reviews have been good, PC reviews delayed, yet I'm pre loading from Steam right now, so this looks like day one patch or something has gone wrong with the port..!!

i'm not feeling confident at the moment..!!
