Tomb Raider Thread

Tho I seem to be stuck in a massive long queue for updating *nothing* :S

EDIT: Now seems to be decrypting the files... tho not in a very effective fashion (only 5% CPU in use).

No proper strafe movement (not really suprising but still poor) and multiple buttons required for actions that could all be done context aware off one button :S rather takes away from the experience tho I was expecting as much.

(No comments about using a pad I don't play games on a PC for that - and no reason why it can't be done proper on a keyboard and mouse even with this type of game)
 
Unpacking for me, going to be unlocked at 1am GMT :(

From various comments look like a pad may have to be used :S

P.s. tressFX appears to be a complete unoptimized fail atm, not playing at 10fps for bouncy volumised, lush hair. Disabled.
 
TBH the hair doesn't look as impressive as the videos from what I'm seeing so far - looks more like a crepe paper mop that wobbles around with a very vague sense of it being affected by stuff in the game world.

EDIT: Its exactly halving my framerate having TressFX on with the GTX675m - ultimate settings at 1920x1080 is mostly 50-60fps with it off, with it on pretty much holds at 25fps.

The older ones played fairly well on traditional keyboard and mouse setup was only the ones in the middle that were never designed with any thought to that. No real reason why it can't be either, stuff like batman, etc. managed it fine.

EDIT: Another game thats ruined for me on the PC as the controls were implemented by a half wit - games like dishonored, batman, etc. managed it fine so no reason why it can't be done.

Been playing for about 5 hours straight - Ultimate settings + Loreal Hair setting, looks fantastic and I am hooked; though I better get some sleep! XD
 
Constant crashes to desktop here after every 20 or so minutes.

Guessing its the new drivers.

Agreed.. This is epic so far, i need to go to bed got work tomorrow but so far this is amazing.

my 7970m is holding up really well, even with tressfx enabled. Its a gamepad game for sure, but the graphics... wow, Crysis 3, now this.

Its got me hooked, no must not play anymore.. Bed time. got work lol
 
Tried it seems pretty good, on highest gtx settings it average 60fps in the built in benchmark! The flashy hair effect seems to be only on the highest settings, any lower and it's just normal,of course you could choose custom. I think I've been a bit spoilt by crysis 3 graphics though.
 
New Beta NVidia driver seems to be causing trouble for some. Roll back.

Stuck already! I've just been found after the sneaking section and grappled with the dude and this red symbol comes up after mashing L&R and I have no idea what button to press! Using K and M.
