To be honest I don't care what happens, I hope they whither away and AKA Tommy never gets mentioned again. At least parties like the UKIP have a sense of political credibility although it will be a while before they are able to rid themselves of their negative image in some regard.

I never doubted that people are angry over people protesting against soldiers during their funeral marches, but to pretend that that's not what it's about still is daft. EDL is nothing more than a gang, that's trying to pretend it isn't.

The EDL is a movement to highlight the dangers of Muslim Extremism in the UK and drive that message home, I would hardly call it a gang but it is to be expected from those who defend extremism.

I agree that 'gang' isn't the right word, but can't think of something more suitable. Movement is better I suppose.

Disagree on what they stand for though. All they are are racists, or those mislead being able to join a body of people where they can carry on being hateful a lot of the time without repercussion. I would assume it contains a fair few amount of disillusioned young men as well who are looking for someone to blame.

Just because the EDL say they are nice, doesn't mean they are.

Similar to Al-Muhajiroun who didn't have social media to spread in the 80's/90's if the EDL is left to network through twitter/facebook/pubs then they will be more of a threat than Al-Muhajiroun in about 5-10 years.

The Government were too slow to react to them so have they learned their lesson and also ban the EDL "movement, gang, extremest group"?
