alves is good, he has had some bad games of late but he adds so much to the team in terms of attacking. when defending his pace is very useful and shows strength too. he also has a cracking free kick, its just a pity that barcelona and brazil have so many choices when it comes to free kicks that he only gets a chance once in a blue moon.

I know he's good at freekicks, but when I'm picking my World XI, a fullback first and foremost needs to be able to defend and pass the ball before I will consider him - the likes of Ronaldo, Alex etc are capable of taking freekicks for my side.

Boswinga is a possibility but he just doesn't jump out and shout pick me! PICK ME! for me.

To be fair, both are awesome keepers cant really pick fault either. Cas' probably tends to flap less at crosses/corners compared to Reina who does this on occasion, however Reina's ball distribution is a fair few notches better.
Why is Reina Nr1? because Iker is the Spain captain, why ruffle things up for no benefit?

A better question to ask is, why the hell do spain have two Worldclass GK's and quite a few just one notch below when england havnt managed to 'breed' a good keeper since old Spermy

Yes i am a united fan. But imo, fletcher would walk into any big side and do a great job. In the position he plays, i dont think anyone is near him. Dosnt get the credit he deserves. Dont think mascherano is all that.

I'm a chelsea fan and I picked Lucio based on the fact that he has been an immense defender at all the clubs he's played for. Not just on his performance against us.
