Due to time constraint I only watch English games so I have an English based team - are they individually the best players - nope but I would wager that they could break up/harass any of the prettier team suggestions and certainly have the ability to snatch a goal or two. Nobody has really stood out for me at RB although that young Brazilian at Man Utd seems to be one to watch out for. Hart has been immense at Birmingham who for me are the team of the season. Cole I feel has been more consistent that Evra although they are very equal in my eyes. My central defence partnership might not be the biggest of names but their ability is obvious when you watch them play. My 4 man midfield has the capability to score goals and would not give up chasing down the opposition which is also why I went for my front two of Tevez and Rooney. I've always thought if you defend from the front then you break up the tempo that the passing teams can slaughter you with. So in the end I went with a team that I felt would work together effectively rather than 11 stand out players. (will wait now for everyone to laugh at my suggestions)

--------- Hart
- ??? Dunne Vermaelen Cole

----- Fletcher Essien
- Park --------------- Milner
---------------- Rooney
------- Tevez

^LOL

Park seriously?? :D

How about Neville at right back?

I rate Park and seemingly so does Alex Ferguson who picks him for all the big games. Like I stated I want fire not finesse and he is often gets close to top of the assist list at Man U which in my eyes is a good achievement despite my sentiments about that club :D

Edit: I should explain Franco Baresi was my favourite player as a kid which will go a long way to explaining my thoughts on the game.

Valencia >>>>>>> Park.

I'm better than Park :p

Bet you wouldn't run as much as him though ;)

He often reminds me of a kid I used to play football with, who was also chinese looking, he didn't speak much english (okay he was a newcomer to the country and could say hello and ask where the loo's where), nor understand football but used to chase it like a dog does things and not know what to do with it when he gets it.

Gah... fair enough he's not a world-beater, but I don't think his touch is that awful either; he's gotten the odd killer pass or great finish in the past.

So bar Park the rest of the team is ok then :D

But in all seriousness I stand by my opinion that a team of grafters who are aggressive and energetic with a few individuals who can nick a goal will be more successful than the Real approach of buying all the best players and somehow thinking all that individualism will necessarily translate into a better team.

I think even the bitterest Scouser or City fan would have to respect Park for his work ethic and self-sacrifice, but he's been exposed this season when he's played out wide and been expected to contribute going forward. In the 1st Leg against (admittedly a very good) Bayern Munich, Fergie attempted to rely on Park as a offensive player on the counter, and United looked a bit toothless...

Everyone teams needs grafters, but you don't need 11!

thats why i chose tevez also, the most skillful grafter out there, yeah hes small, but his finishing, ball control and movement are amazing, he just never seems to give up, or relax, even if his side are winning 5-0 or losing 5-0

Still don't know why Man U got rid of him - Tevez will score a goal for you in the 89th minute or the 95th (only joking Man U fans) when you are 0-0. Berbatov however would score a wonderfully elegant and sublime goal when you are already 3-0 up. I know which I think is more valuable.

(I am not a berbatov hater though he has never shone at Old Trafford but he has still been pretty good)

We "got rid of him" because Tevez would have cost a fortune, had played rubbish for us that season and complained constantly to the papers.

he never played rubbish, he hardly got a game, tevez and berbatov, were both on the bench for most of the season, plus with the money you got for ronaldo, tevez would have been a bargain.

He made 51 appearances in that season, and yes he played **** a lot. He got 15 goals (4 of which were in one game) His attitude was terrible and he wasn't worth 30m + the ridiculous wages he's on.

Both Utd and Tevez's agent confirmed that you offered the fee to make his deal permanent, it was Tevez that chose to leave.

Also, most Utd fans wanted him to stay and made their opinion known everytime he came on the pitch for you towards the end of last season.

Yeah well most United fans are idiots tbh. These are the same United fans that wanted Nani out in january probably, in which case the title would have been lost already and Bayern would have annihilated us.

hes got like 22 goals in 32 games this season, a lot better than nani or berbatov.

if i was man u, i would have bought tevez and ribery or silva, sold berbatov and nani. and still had change from the 90m from ronaldo to buy another world class player or two like villa or lahm.

if he made 51 appearances then why does wiki say

2007–2009 Manchester United 63 (19)

that means in 2007-2008 he made 12 appearances when you didnt have berbatov, then he made 51 when you did have him. lol
