The Peugeot bit was hillarious and spot on, I have an old grandpa with a 307 in my street, who drives exactly like that, along with scuffs on all 4 corners of the car...

Many of my customers who genuinely do not care about cars ( old people who just want to get from A to B and the heater to work) always seem to drive Peugeots...

They were actually a little out on the dates, the poo-box that is the 206 has been out since the late 90's and the truly truly awful 806 (later surpassed by the skull crushingly horrific 807) was mid 90's. And even the half decent models like the 106/306 and 406 weren't spared from the suffering thanks to an assortment of hateful diesel engines.

Chris Harris had the temerity/balls/stupidity* to call them on it, and I think he's still on the not welcome list years later : http://jalopnik.com/5760248/how-ferrari-spins

You're talking about a man that has since owned several Ferraris, however, and driven all of the new ones :p

The companies get over it, in the end. They're not stupid, they just like to make a point from time to time.

Good episode last night. If true, then the McLaren/Ferarri attitude towards having the P1 and LaF being tracked comes across as a bit childish. Quite interesting to hear really.

Peugeot segment was pretty good; accents bit came across a bit cringing but when May bounced off the house I was having a good chuckle :)

Lol not quite a Peugeot driver although I did run an old 106 for a bit at one point! It just decended into a farce by the end tho, all that trouble to make a car Manufacturer look bad? I thought they were going to throw in a review of the new 308gti but guess I was wrong. TG has gone too much in the direction of a grumpy old man programme rather than cool car show.

Miss the days of Tiff Needell!

I thought this too, it would have been a great segment to introduce the 308Gti (especially given Peugeots own references to the 205Gti in the advertising).

That was exactly what I'd expected, a short "Peugeot made some rubbish cars like these ones...and now they are back to making good cars with the 308 GTI!" but unfortunately it was just an extended farce, some comical bits in it mind.

Great start to an episode and then let down by an utterly pointless 20 minutes of filler on Peugeot. Yes it had some laughs but mostly was cringe, it would have been way better as a short introduction to a proper review of the 208 or 308 GTi

Peugeot bit really wasn't my cup of tea.
I hope we do get a fight out though. Top gear are big enough to assert some pressure on them. Still I doubt it.

Yeah, I'm amazed every time someone complains on here that there isn't enough car reviews and how it's just "silly" and "childish".

Have you been watching for the last 10 years thinking "it will be different next week, I just know it!"

:D

A 50:50 episode for me, I enjoyed the Corvette and LaFerrari but don't care about Olly Murs so SIARPC was meh and the Peugeot bit I didn't find funny. I understand the stereotypes but 15-20 mins on taking the **** out of them without leading onto something stuck out as being out of place IMO.
