Total Lunar Eclipse - Saturday 3rd March

Just fwiw, but when looking at the moon, if you travel from the 1 o'clock position, what looks to be the second star out is actually saturn. If you have binoculars you'll see the elongated shape due to the rings & if you have a telescope you probably knew that already. :p

I can just about make out a faint ring with my binoculars... very hard to get a steady shot but i can defo see something that makes it stand out... thanks for that :D

to be exact if my eyes dont deceive me with these binoculars its a half saturn :p haha if thats the correct term with the ring poking out at the 2 o'clock region

Bloody annoying isnt it! Was clear 10 mins ago, went outside and another arse of a cloud had parked itself over Denton :(

What the hell is this photorange rubbish? surely you just point and shoot?
Well you can only see it depending on a focal length.

Mines 200mm, and thats a 100% crop. Not enlarged.

Some people on here are using 300+ and getting a great picture.

Almost all gone now here in NG2. Looks awesome. I'm wasted on Neuroscience, I knew I should have done an Astrology degree!

Using a 300mm Tamron here, i think 400mm is the least you should use!

 ******* clouds!!!

Might see something in about 20-30 mins but I doubt it. Cannot believe how unlucky that is. It has been clear more or less all night, and now when the time comes for it to happen I can't see a bloody thing!
