Total War: Warhammer 2

Curse of the Vampire Coast

Probably my favourite DLC TBH. You can recruit anywhere, and establish Pirate Coves in port cities for income. So conquering is optional. Dreadfleet's start position is particularly good for this as Galleon's Graveyard is quite isolated and well fortified; it's very rare that the AI will even try to take it. Not needing to worry about managing a bunch of cities, you're free to raid the seas and plunder coastal settlements.

Or you can play as normal and conquer everywhere. Then they play a lot more like Vampire Counts, but with a different troop roster.

You can't really go wrong with most of the WHII DLC though. The only one I've seen people grumbling about is The Hunter and The Beast.

Well obviously just buy all the DLC otherwise you can't play the complete game.

All you're buying is a faction or legendary lord unlock; the content is already in game for everyone. So the game is already "complete". There's little point in buying the DLC unless you want to play as that faction or lord.

It makes complete sense to buy it one piece at a time given how long it takes to play through a Total War (particularly Mortal Empires) campaign. The DLC is on sale every few weeks anyway (either directly on Steam, or via a 3rd party like Humble).

There is absolutely nothing confusing about it. TWW (like many TWW games) is a game you just commit to and play until it can be played no more. I can't imagine not buying all of the DLC for it regardless of how often I play all of the races/factions. :)

Was thinking of getting this, but not sure which to buy first TWW 1 or TWW2?

Which is the best one?
Buy both to get access to a factions but you will likely only play II. I thought the Chaos Invasion campaign in I was better vs the Vortex campaign in II, but Mortal Empires is where it's at.

Mortal Empires has been great so far. Can’t believe how quick the turns are.

Yeah, it's just a shame it took them literally years to get around to fixing that.

I cracked.

Purchased the game in the Steam sale for £13.60 and added in the King and the Warlord and Prophet and the Warlock DLCs cheaply, plus the Wood Elves and Tomb Kings. I will likely pick up Vampire Coast too. Promised myself I will limit FM to put my gaming time into this.

I think the fair lands of Bretonnia may be my first port of call though...

Have they explained how exactly they've managed to speed turn times up so much?
Through putting actual time and effort into the coding and optimization. The worst thing is that this could have likely been done many months ago if they had really cared about quality of life and bug fixes instead of simply pushing new content. Their development culture is shoddy.
