Schweinstieger would be great, but his price does need to reflect that he's 29.

I'm thinking somewhere in the £15-20m region.

It seems we're going to bid £25m. I have no issue with that, assuming his wage isn't ridiculous, obviously.

I don't think we'll get him though, would be awesome. :(

Ive been seeing euros rather than pounds (but the same amount) which is a bit more palatable.

Personally think you are also doubliing the length of time he would be useful to Utd (if not more). Its also questionable why we would hand a 30 year old (by the time he plays for us) a 4 year contract. 3 at absolute max hopefully and even then I would hope we have viable alternatives within 18 months coming through to replace him (rather than wait for the last 6 months of his contract and suddenly wake up and see who might be available in the next window).

If that's official from Barcelona then that is spectacularly classless form them.

+1 , cant believe that tbh even from them (even after supposedly paying for orgies in a hotel for Neymar's father lol)

Just seen David Bentley has retired. Whatever happened to him?

This, was touted as the "Next Beckham" - think he thought David, everyone else thought Victoria.

Loved him at Arsenal until he became bigger than the club. Ruined himself sadly.

Not sure what's funnier, arsenal fans in mourning he's gone to chelsea or the Man U lot desperately trying to convince themselves they have bigger signings lined up, just round the corner.

I think Arsenal fans were disappointed we didn't move for him but I don't think anyone really cares he went to chelski. I think it's a good move for him.

Barcelona didn't hold back with their announcement on the website and don't seem too bothered about him going, the fans don't either.

If that is true, then not very good form tbh.

Over the moon that Cesc is coming to Chelsea, he's a brilliant, brilliant player will definitely add to our creativity. With him and hopefully Costa I think Chelsea should be favourites for the title next year.

City were a great team for the most part, but had some noticeable injury problems. They can strengthen purely with Kompany and Aguero not being injured on/off throughout the season. I think Aguero was fit for what 3-4 months straight and in brilliant form then had niggling hamstring that hurt his and City's season.

I think Chelsea have improved the most significant weaknesses in their team, more than anyone else by a mile and will be joint favourites. Depends what City do before August. They look to be adding defensive midfield cover to improve on Garcia, a CB improvement. They could do with a proper out and out winger.

If City bring in 1-2 top players AND Kompany/Aguero can go largely uninjured they have a very very strong team that should also improve from being more used to the manager and vice versa.

Can't see anyone else having a look in, managers feeling out the week spots, fixing them, having a second preseason under their belts(albeit slightly screwed by world cup). City/Chelsea should be much stronger, but no obvious reason for Liverpool/Arsenal to get much stronger. Liverpool have a bunch more games to deal with, more travel, likely more injuries and importantly less time to prepare for games as well. Arsenal haven't changed in years. Utd have the most scope for improvement but I can't see them challenging. Even if they make the squad changes required(and there are a lot of them) it will be a new team with a new manager, new style and will take a while to be a great team.

RE: Utd's midfield issues.

Who else is there that would slot in? Schweinsteiger (sp), Koke, Cesc (before his move was confirmed to Chelsea) and Pogba have all been mentioned but there must be other players around?

..... Costa, Courtois .... Filipe Luís, Tiago ..... Varane/Mangala ..... Modric .....

That should make it go > :D:D

I was going to write them all out myself but I couldn't spell most of there names. :p

'Scuse me whilst I dance around the house again. :D:D:D:D:D:D
