Neither Rodriguez or Schneiderlin were inherently amazing before Pochettino started coaching them and helping them improve. They both look good as a result of playing in a well set out team. They didn't carry Southampton nor did they do anything spectacular.

We saw this in the World Cup with certain teams. Set up well and have players why do what they are told and you are greater than the sum of your parts. You don't become a professional footballer without having good basic skills so if you simply do as you are told and have a manager who can make the most of his players you can do well.

All the Manchester journalists reporting it at the same time, safe to say they've been briefed on this.

They all claim Kagawa is up for sale too (and Nani/Anderson). Probably for the best.

At least something is finally happening...

LVG is proving he's a complete spanner if they lose 15m on him..

A £12m loss isn't bad (considering), he won't work in any Van Gaal system. Why keep him?

Oh and Di Marzio has confirmed Vidal's agent being in Italy for talks: http://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/calciomercato/vidals-agent-arrives-in-italy/

"Far from over" he says. Offers of €40m and above considered, this is the first time he's said something like this too.

I'm expecting other clubs to come in for him too now. He's on the market. :(

They'll be wishing they did keep him when all the cm's are injured..

Mata/Cleverly/Herrera? All tiny mofo's..

Can't actually believe he'll go to Napoli for 15mil? Proper good deal all things considering

Eh...

Fletcher/Carrick + whoever else we sign for CM will be fine as cover.

What makes you rate him, I mean, even all the Everton fans think he's awful? I think he can be useful in a limited number of situations, but I don't care if we sell him for a loss.

He's not awful at all is he? you obviously don't play for Belgium in every game of the WC when your awful. I'm not sure how everton fans can say he was bad when he scored like 15 odd goals for them in his last season from midfield.

Wenger should sign him if he's going for 10 odd million. can't imagine he'd want to leave the prem tbh tho. feel proper sorry for the lad, got nothing but grief as soon as he walked through the door.

Hey, I actually thought he might be a good signing, and I don't blame him (just Moyes). Then I realised he can't play that holding midfield role - like he (and Moyes) said he could - so he's not of any real use.

That's because he's better when you allow him to run about. He has a good touch for a big guy and his physicality is not to be sniffed at. This is what makes me think LVG is going to be so naive this year in the PL. If Arsenal could sign him for 15 mil, Wenger should jump at the chance. Arsenal have really lacked someone big like him in the middle, suppose Diaby is back though...

It was 11, not 15, he scored most of them while playing as a striker, not from midfield, he scored a large portion of them from corners(making where he plays for the other 89 minutes pretty much pointless) and 8 of the 11 were against Villa, Reading, Fulham, Swansea and Sunderland. He took a butload of shots, 90 to be exact, and deserved about 14 red cards in the season, a season plagued by elbows, iirc an actual punch and a headbutt or two that he got away with, maybe all of them.

he actually is crap, and the utterly woeful argument of "you don't play for your country if you aren't any good" can be countered by example after example of awful players who are constantly awful and fail at every club.

Felipe Melo was rubbish, literally awful every single time I saw him. He got a move to one club in italy and was voted worst player/worst buy of the season. He played plenty for Brazil and was woeful up to and then including the game in which he scored an own goal and got a hilariously stupid red card. Heskey is another name that comes to mind, etc, etc.

15mil for Fellaini is more than Everton should have gotten for him(or paid for him for that matter) in the first place. Utd will do very well to get that much out of him.

AS for Arsenal getting him... lol, being big isn't a skill. Having a team working to the same goal is incredibly important, square peg in a round hole is useless. He doesn't play in the Arsenal(or Utd) way and wouldn't work in the slightest. When you want to put an elbowing battering ram upfront, he's fine, when you want someone to play pass and move football, he's useless.
