sounds like Vidals off now :p

Juventus is at the center of numerous transfer stories, today their executive director Beppe Marrotta gave an update to Sky Sport:”We have started a negotiation for Romulo, there are some details that need to be settled but I hope everything can be settled in 24 hours. Vidal? We have clear ideas, the player signed an extension and he has never expressed the desire to leave. Our transfer period? We are thinking of a striker and defender, we’re ready to take advantage of an opportunity should it arrive” Marotta then talked about the team’s goals:”We are focused on the 4th scudetto in a row. Roma has certainly improved”

posturing innit. he isn't exactly going to come out and say they're selling him considering the fans clearly think it won't be a good move being one of their best players.

Wonder if Southampton will be able to field a side come the season opener?!

Saints fans must be gutted.

As I just said above, he's most likely repeating what's been said already, and regardless of the situation he'd never say differently.

Having said that, I do think it's off now, I think our name is just being used for some sinister purpose and we're off looking at other targets, whoever they may be. :(

Givem that we are playing Inter tomorrow the swap idea with Chicharito and Guarin has cropped up again from last summer / Jan

Wouldnt be a bad move as a short term solution ( although he has jusy extended for years)

If Vidal falls through I would be happy with goimg the opposite in Cavalho ( a well thought of youngster) will be expensive though given Sporting rejected Arsenal's £25m bid out of hand ( not sure if that was because of payment structure or the actual amount), but wouldnt be so bad if bought in conjuction with Guarin/ De Jong to add the experience

Edit.... Some describe wingers as 3rd / 4th strikers in which case Morratta could still be after Nani ( or even Chicharito, who Juve have been reported to have an imterest)..... Lol

I remember somebody earlier in the year posting a joke about how Southampton will not have enough players to field a side as their players were linked with everyone. It seems that it might become true. :p

They need a good slap, They are going to make £60 million easy on Pogba and they got Evra. They must think now were mugs to sell Nani for cheap and then pay a fortune for Vidal. If it was me i would have put hot coffee over them after the Evra deal was concluded.

Strootman in January would do although SAF is a major idiot for not getting Javi Martinez. I really wanted him and Herrera a few years ago. Now look at them... :|

In a word, yes.

It isn't altogether unsurprising though. I would rather hear at least some rumours about players we're going to bring in to replace them, but the best I've seen is we're working on four or five deals at the moment, one of which is Rojo, the Argentinian left back.

I think it's just the way football is going to be now. The big clubs as we know them now always will be the big clubs and the best everyone else can hope for is a season where you play attractive football and finish two thirds of the way up the league.

You can't play too well though, or else you'll lose your entire team :p

I will be gutted if we sign schneiderlin and rodriguez.

One of the big selling points of Pochettinno was his ability to work with players and make them better.

He still hasn't even seen Dembele, Chadli and Paulinho or Sandro and he wants to sign another central midfielder.

Capoue, Carroll, Mason, Sandro, Paulinho, Dembele, Holtby and Bentaleb. Why do we need Schneiderlin? Paulinho in particular needs some coaching; he has played so much football over the last 2 seasons he could do with a rest and then encouragement.

Townsend has never been coached by a top level coach; I would like to see him after some time under our new coach. We have Lennon, Lamela, Holtby, Eriksen, Kane and Chadli on the same position as Rodriguez and none of them are any worse than he was when Pochettino came into Southampton.

The idea of Pochettino coming in and signing two players in crowded positions before he has even seen his full squad is nuts.

Cristian Rodriguez may well be signing for Sunderland from Athletico...seems he isn't guaranteed fist team football there anymore after they signed Griezman..or they signed griezman as his replacement

He started 2 games in the league for them last year, 18 as a sub, he wasn't first team. He's really not that good. Generally speaking Griezman is a replacement for Villa and Mandy is a replacement for Costa, so Griezman playing a more wide/forward role Mandy up front in the middle. Thought he was very poor for Uruguay and the few times I saw him for Atletico, he was poor.

PS, two teams in La Liga, Athletic Bilbao and Atletico Madrid , no one seems to get them right, almost ever.

See were linked with lavezzi again tbh I wouldn't mind him but he isn't the out and out striker we need :/ really also wish we would sign a good left back we haven't had a good one since aurelio / risse

when you say really not that good...do you mean from the perspective of an arsenal fan?

as a Sunderland fan my outlook on players probably vastly differs from what your expectations of a player may be :)

Dont think Strootman is viable until next summer at the earliest

Probably said with a bit of jest, but even so roma stated they valued him at 100m euros this summer....

http://www.espnfc.com/player/85040/cristian-rodriguez?season=2005 look though the various seasons, he's effectively played a "full" season once in his career, he's had one year scoring above 4 goals. More recently you're talking about a player who plays maybe 10-15 first team games a year, provides 1, if lucky 2 goals. Maybe he's a good runner/worker and gets quite a few sub appearances but he's a player that Atletico with almost no budget regard as the best they can afford as back up... ie they can barely afford back up.

hell Sunderland can probably afford higher wages than Atletico this year, getting their back up who provided next to nothing seems entirely pointless. Maybe he'll be magic, get games and find some form but his history, and what I saw of him suggests he just isn't good at all.

If they were offered 50m they would jump at it.

Mandy is mandzukic I assume as well.
