Haha, such a ****! :p

:D fine i'll do it then, and i'll give you 50 if you finish above where you did last season. I've definitely got the bad end of the deal, last year was always going to be the hardest..

The press here were reporting that Utd would go back in for him ever since the deal fell through the previous summer.

And even when Ballague etc reported the deal was close , it wasn't as if it was done and dusted then. There was still another week or so of negotiating, bids being rejected and so on before it was completed.

They weren't from what I can remember. Mark Ogden, (and all the good journalists - most were at the World Cup) said he'd be very surprised if we were back in for him. https://twitter.com/MOgdenTelegraph/status/481219086928859136

There was no mention of Herrera this summer until it was suddenly reported one evening by a Spanish reporter covering Bilbao. It was confirmed 2 days later on the 26th.

Balague first mentioned the deal on the 24th, too.

I'd say that was pretty quick...

I would take that bet but thats just cruel to you. We have to finish top 6 for me to win. We have a decent manager and have bought some good players since then and the transfer window isn't closed yet.

If we had secret agent Moyes still I wouldn't feel so bad about taking your money.

lol...alright..:p

New contract for Barkley.

And there were loads of articles from Septemberish reporting you'd be back in for Herrera.

Even if there were, we still told the journalists after that we weren't interested (which is the point here). Nobody expected us back in for him when it was announced, I was certainly surprised but not shocked.

If you wish to I won't say no but I'll feel almost bad about taking your money. If you want to take the wager and the loser gives the money to charity we could do that.

even better, charity of our choice it is..

Maybe I just wasn't paying attention but I thought it was common knowledge that you were after him.

It was common knowledge that we tried to sign him and failed, maybe there were some reports after that saying we'd try and sign him again but it was far from certain.

Anyway, the point here is, and it was the same with Mata, the club (Woodward) are now basically denying interest in most players right until they are signed, so it may be the case with Vidal. They are being very selective about what they're telling the press.
