Ross Barkley signs new four-year contract with Everton.

Removed, grow up.

Some bad news about Wednesday;

First, boooooo.

  • Sheffield Wednesday: Hafiz Mammadov takeover is delayed

Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed a takeover by Azerbaijani businessman Hafiz Mammadov has been delayed.

BBC Link.

Booooooo.

  • Sheffield Wednesday's Caolan Lavery ruled out by knee injury

Sheffield Wednesday forward Caolan Lavery will miss the start of the season with a cruciate knee ligament injury and could be out for two months.

BBC Link.

Sad news re; Lavery, he was starting to impress at the end of last season and I think a lot of people were hoping he would be able to get much more playing time this season.

Selling Lukaku would be a shame. Chelsea need him as cover for Costa, and as a 'homegrown' player. Drogba is not a player to do 90mins any more, and we can't be relying on Torres again.

That said, it seems he isn't keen to stay and fight for his place, and would rather go somewhere he's guaranteed to be the #1 striker. If that's the case then there's little point in keeping him around, even if he does have great potential.

Origi has completed his move to Liverpool but will stay on loan at Lille for a season. And yes its official cos.

As expected but can't get excited for it as he isn't coming to help us for this coming season, part of me rather it went to some one could come in now though he does look very good for the future I just worry too many of our signings are for the future atm

Have no idea of the validity, but some reports today are saying Chelsea currently have too many foreigners and may have to sell ( Cech' s name has come up a couple of times)

Yep - Mourinho said in an interview (yesterday?) that one of the foreign players needs to be sold in order to meet the quota.

Obviously this would be Torres in an ideal world, but finding a buyer who will pay even close to his wages is going to be a big problem. The other potentially surplus player is Mikel, who is supposedly being offered to a number of Italian clubs. If neither of those two can be sold, then Cech could be on the way out, which would be a shame, but understandable with Courtois here.

Anyway, I really hope Lukaku stays to fight for his place and learn from Drogba, but if he's not willing to do so then he'll go. I can't see Chelsea accepting less than £25m for him - as above, he wasn't a cheap buy in the first place.

edit: The only way I'd be happy to see Lukaku leave is if he's used as part of a deal to prise Pogba from Juve. Seems unlikely, but Juve are after a striker, so who knows. Pogba would also count as 'home grown' for what it's worth.

So the Chairman has emerged from his hidey hole to say Schneiderlin and Rodriguez won't be sold and that all monies received are available for new players.

Don't believe a word but it'll make for an interesting few weeks.
