How many points a season would Ballotelli win Arsenal though? Podolski seems to be out of favour and Giroud is like a scatter gun in front of goal. Arsenal would be a real force if they had a world class striker.

I like Ballotelli as a player, he's better than most give him credit for particially because he struggled with City when being played under Mancini as a lone striker.

The problem where was playing Balo upfront and wanting his support to come from miles away in the shape of Nasri/Silva out wide, not enough pace or support when they played like that during the time Aguero was out, the only time they really played him like that.

Problem is that is really Arsenal's issue in that sense, Ballotelli is at his best with a partner. The way Arsenal play and the way Wenger is(as in playing one player till they drop dead), we need a striker capable of all types of play. We need an Aguero and Dzeko all in one. Drogba would have worked in any of our games this year, dominating, he's great in the box, tough games, he's a monster at occupying a defence, pushing them back, holding the ball up and capable of running in on goal or scoring from distance.

We need an all in one striker, untill Wenger is willing to buy something other than midget midfielders, or he's willing to actually choose a striker based on who we are playing and rotate well.

Ballotelli just doesn't fit the bill as a multipurpose striker. If Wenger was willing to have two strikers, and say play a hold up the ball/battering ram against Liverpool, and a Defoe type against Norwich, okay, but he won't.

Meh, we're so totally dependant on a particular way of playing, when the opposition forces us to change our game and play differently we look clueless. This is a fundamental problem under Wenger, buying a new striker won't change it.

Mario Gomez, Benzema, Mandžukić, Menez, Vučinić, Rossi and Hernández. One of these players surely will end up at Arsenal next season.

Looks like Evra could be joining Vidic.

Can play RB as well but whatever, we won't get him.

Dont be silly, none of them will end up at Arsenal instead we will get some unknown french ligue 2 player who has spent most of his career on the injury table to come in and be our next 30 goal a season scorer...someone similar to Sanogo:o:p

Do Italian defenders do well in the Premiership?
I can't recall any really top defenders in the PL.
Can someone job my memory?

When Liverpool signed Dossena it was reported that Capello and Baldini were raving about him to the Liverpool players in the England squad, claiming he was the best fullback in Italy.

He was garbage.

Of the ones he listed the only remotely suitable players are Benzema and Mandy, both will be on huge wages. For us to play a lone striker with midgets on the wings and Ozil behind him, you need someone capable of great all around play and strong as possible/tall, which leaves those two. Gomez is great in the 6 yard box, he'd miss less of those than Le Finger Flicker, but is just crap in the rest of his game so completely pointless for Arsenal.

Benzema goes through bad patches but is currently in a good one. He's on a big wage already, said to be around 170k + he gets a decent bonus for winning things... meaning his equivalent pay would need to be higher at Arsenal :p

As with other players who get linked because of the potential future transfers. If Real bought a big name striker I couldn't see Benzema leaving till a year after that time, not the same transfer window, to see what happens.

Ozil left because he was already being left out for big games, was already considered the first choice to leave and was trusted the least of anyone in the attack. Currently Benzema is first choice and a new signing can always flop, if he gets displaced and never plays for a year then I can see him wanting out, but not this summer.

Stupid thing is, Higuain is what we needed, FAR more than Ozil. His all around game is great, good delivery when he gets wide, great pace, can run at the defence, great hold up player, brilliant finisher. He's everything we needed, all in one player, who wanted to come to Arsenal AND didn't cost that much.........

Instead we bought a big game bottler for twice his true value which was way more than Higuain would have cost.

Fingers crossed for a huge scandal in Italy again and Napoli is one of the teams involved(but not Higuain :p ).

Sounds like BS. He is an UTD player now till he retires.

i love rooney at utd but his ego is out of control at times. he needs to get back to his old goalscoring form. sign a box to box mid and let rooney score the goals.

no chance of rvp going anywhere.
