Gerard Deulofeu loaded to sevilla. Is he all hype or not that good for top teams?
WTF I thought they wanted him for this year so we couldn't have him againI would have loved him to get a full fit season with us. Fantastic player.
From what I understand it is a huge loophole and that is why we are doing it.You're probably right about that - having performance related bonuses completely excluded from FFP consideration seems like a giant gaping loophole.

Having Aguero on 150k a week with huge bonuses has to be better for FFP both short term and long term than him on 250k a week otherwise we wouldn't bother surely?
It enables us to move around the cap that UEFA has imposed.
I don't know the ins and outs of it but from my point of view the reason for these new contracts has to be some kind of FFP loophole?
We are reportedly going to break even in the next financial results as well and make a profit from then on.
I see what you mean and we will have to see how it goes. You could look at if said player want's to go to Chelsea or utd and get his extra 20k a week rather than working hard to get his bonuses at City then is he really a player you want to be signing?Until the next big star arrives and potentially has to agree to being paid less than he was on before and "hope" you carry on being a success as a team
If every team does it, then you will be fine - but I just cant see it being a long term solution. Wait until Chelsea, Man Utd or who ever want to offer 20k+ week more (even if bonuses are £1m less to effectively give the player the same amount)
Of course this will work for every current star (and I guess you could bring in a couple of big stars on "normal " high contracts, and then when they re-sign two or three years later move to this "new" tier of contract - not sure how current players would appreciate this though)
Breaking: Cadena COPE say Marco Reus has agreed to join Atleti. They say it's a done deal. #ReusRojiblanco
I still find it hard to believe, but if it's true, then good on Atletico. Some great business they've done this summer. Griezmann, Reus and Mandzukic will be a damn good front line. I hope they can continue to compete with the Spanish big boys.
I must admit I thought it would be tougher for United to sign players outside of the CL but not this hard with a recent history like theirs. I guess big players post 25 just don't want to take a risk being out of the CL anymore and it's not nailed on they will get back in. I can see why they would think it, it's bigger than the world cup these days and they just follow the money and endorsements. Not that United need Reus anyway.

I don't even think it's that, we're either making a horrible mess of negotiations or refusing to pay what people want.
Disaster so far, but still salvageable. I refuse to believe we don't at least have several deals in the works/potential targets.
Shades of last summer though...
one word woodwardOn the plus side, we should have some players ready to sign for the start of next summer with the work we have put in this window...
It is getting a little ridiculous now. You can try and pass it off as a manager wanting to assess his players but there is no way in hell that anyone thinks that United wouldn't benefit massively from a world class CM and a couple of top CBs. Even if all our players play better than they have ever done in their lives and don't get injured, there are better players out there.
Thats ignoring the very obvious fact that we have almost no cover in vital positions let alone cover that is any good. Either we are penny pinching, players that we wan't don't want to sig or LvG is a nutter.
I would love to know what actually happened transfer wise last year. Were players saying no? Were we not offering enough? Teams much smaller than us in stature are buying top players in relatively short spaces of time from when they appear to court them yet we seem to dither for ages.
Seems that Van Gaal was asked about the transfer situation during the non-camera part of the press conference today. We should find out what he has to say some time tonight. Should be interesting![]()
