I think Vidal will be difficult but my god, how good would it be.

£59.7 million

Not too bad. I was starting to get worried about reports of nearly 75 million including add ons.

Hopefully that 4 million add on is just if we win the league in the next few years or something :p

Such a surprising signing, not that in complaining because anyone would be an improvement on the rubbish we have in midfield, especially the wings. But come on, sign the players we need now please.

I didn't say he was the best striker in the world, I said he's a complete striker. He has a bit of everything about him.

I never said that you said that. I disputed the notion he was a complete striker. He isn't.

He's quick and skilful but has average finishing, is quite one footed, not great in the air, not particularly strong and doesn't have great passing either for a striker.

Not to say he's particularly bad at anything but that's different from saying he's a complete striker. Not forgetting that he's had what? One good season?

Don't get me wrong, I like him as a player but he has a lot of progressing to go to become a 'complete striker'.

IMO confidence is the biggest facet, which will see Man Utd improve.
If the confidence is bad, you can take a league winning team to 7th place.

We were building confidence during pre-season, however, after injuries and a loss in the first game, as LvG said, confidence is low.

If you see Man Utd's 2 games this season you will see how scared the players look. How unsure. How unconfident they look. and this was against the mighty Sunderland, who looked very ordinary.

I remember last year when Juan Mata arrived, the supporters were jubilant. We saw how little difference he made. Fellaini was always doomed. Other players bought since then cannot be played (Shaw, Herrara, Rojo).

I have seen many false dawns in the last year or so, so I will wait at least a few months to see how Di Maria does, before I get excited about his signing.

One thing is for sure.
By breaking the British record and buying one of Real Madrid's best players, Man Utd have made it clear to other players/targets that they are prepared to spend big money to get back to the top. This may help us buy other players who were previously dithering.

I think you should watch him play more. The only thing you're partially right on is his heading ability, which he's far from bad at.

I was hugely sceptical about him as a centre forward when he signed but he convinced me very quickly with his performance against City not long after joining. He dominated Kompany which not many strikers have done.

Don't need to be a good header when you can just use your shoulder to score like a badass ;)
