If purely looking at the transfer fee payed perhaps, but it's a bit short sighted considering inflation, transfer fee inflation, addons, and most of all wages. He was paid 4 million GBP a season for two seasons and was hardly a fixture in the team.

Im not sure "transfer fee inflation" comes into it much , same level of player going back to the same club he came from - they just paid the money back we paid originally.

Even if he was on that much (and there is no proof he was) its not really anything in comparision to Young or Nani or several others

I think you are just trying to be a wind up

It's too difficult to say without knowing how lvg will line up the team.

Then you've git players like Fellaini, 30 million sat there. Do you try to accommodate him? use hhim as a freak show big man up top in emergencies? But ultimately young, valencia, Carrick, clevo, welbeck, Hernandez. The biggest dismantlement ever 2 weeks into a season?
I'm saying with you in charge, not LVG, dictating the line-up, formation, transfer targets and players who are surplus to requirements.

Okay at least everyone in that list would go. Plus rvp but because we overspent/bought him at the wrong age he doesn't have much retail value left.

And id go

433 as mentioned. We'd need a RB, 2xCm, striker, right winger. Plus a centre back or two.

Like we have done for the past 3 years?

Alright then, have any name for these positions? I'm not going to argue that we need change in those positions, I'm just curious as to who you'd look at bringing in.

Have you seen the figures on how many shirts we have sold with his name on in Japan? Coupled with the numerous sponsorship deals from Japan etc?

You dinosaurs Kagawa is a superb player. I mean come on did SAF not know here is a player who plays in Germany and is very light and slow? In Germany there is no contact or argie bargy.

Yet since he has came here i have watched someone who was one of my favourite players at Dortmund try to play the same way and get ignored. Kagawa plays in tight positions and you are supposed to pass to him before he has to flap his arms around to say "pass to me for god sake" and then he will one two or make a through ball.

He has zero service and unless you can get Herrera close to him or Mata no one else in the team has anywhere near the ability to play with him. He is the sort of player who thrives on quick passing whizzing in and around peoples feet before anyone can close him down his off the ball movement is second only to Hernandez. So sad top top player someone is getting for just £12m.

Just another good player we've misused, discarded for a few years to erode all his value then apparently flogged on the cheap. Our transfer policy is just an embarrassment. Can't remember the last time we got good value for a player, Kieron Richardson maybe?

Ronaldo? Beckham? lol

It's hilarious how with this football inflation doesn't matter, but when it comes to CP paying all of Zaha's new wages or whatever then it does. At least be consistent :o.

Why can't you accept Kagawa was a mistake/you will have lost money on him/etc? All clubs have doe that kind of thing... arguing it's not true to try and save face is embarrassing.

I disagree about Kagawa being a mistake. He's a fantastic player and helped the Asian market (Japanese specifically).

I think that Kagawa is a fantastic player, but has basically been used as a round peg in a square hole for the majority of his time at Manchester United, the side / team / tactics were not set up to get the best out of him.

It was not a 'mistake' to buy him, it was a mistake to use him as Sir Alex and Moyes have.

Manchester United obviously lose money, the wages, signing on fee's, bonuses is all money spent on Kagawa. Getting ~£12,000,000 for him though seems a good move for all involved.

This is so spot on. Finally finding someone with the same view, it feels like a weight has been lifted.

To be fair, Kagawa is a top player, we are just not set up to use him properly / don't have the players who suit his style. There is no reason why he shouldn't be worth £20m+ in the current market. He is young, technically good and hasn't become a bad player in the last 2 years.

I have no idea why we are selling him for so little. When we bought him I was amazed how cheaply we got him but to let him go for such a small fee is silly.

I'm happy for him, I'm surprised he didn't demand a move at the end of his first or second seasons. His career has taken a serious set back but hopefully he can get back on track.
