He's also reporting that you're obligated to sign him for €60m+ next summer too though.

I'm all but certain that he'd be taxed over here still.

Except he's going to be resident for tax purposes in the UK, no?

Will he? I don't know what the rules are, however I do know the minimum legally allowed wage for a professional footballer in the league is £90 a week.... they don't have to pay him beyond that while he's here, while Monaco could hold his wages for a year then pay him when he gets back, or pay him a lump sum before signing the contract. He could effectively get paid double for last year or next year and get paid minimum wage during his year on loan.

I could imagine there are many ways around it to be honest.

I think Welbeck could be a fantastic striker at the right club.

He's not going to make it with us, I don't think. But I feel like he would do very well at Arsenal, especially considering their current situation.

He isn't a bad player at all, but he definitely needs a run of games to get going. I can see it being another Sturridge situation, a move away would do him wonders.

Falcao is no doubt going to be expensive, but it'll be exciting to see how he does.

I was worried he was going to Liverpool at one point, but still wanted to see him in the league.

Welbeck will most likely go to Spurs, won't he? Not Arsenal. We'll see.

Be interesting to see how he does alongside a "big" striker at Man U. He went off the boil when Costa came good at Atletico and obviously his knee issue.

Hmm, Sturridge always looked quality to me, he just never got much of a chance at Chelsea which is always the case with young strikers there. I was glad that he left to go to another top side. I wasn't convinced he would become the player his threatens to become now but I don't think Welbeck has that same promise.

hmmm Im not sure - even being permanent 1st choice I don't think he will ever be more than 8th place and below level of player, maybe 5 -6 with Europe (but then probably wont play every game....)

There aren't. Even if Monaco pay him, he'll be taxed here.

As it says in the link I provided, even non residents are taxed on earning made outside the UK if it's linked to their activities in the UK. It's what has put off big name athletes from competing in competitions in the UK as even a % of their endorsements are taxed here.

What a lot of people overlook with Sturridge was that even playing from a wide position at Chelsea, his goals to minutes ratio was very impressive. Welbeck's biggest weakness is his ability to put the ball in the net.

Just got home from work. Why the **** have we loaned Falcao? Bizarre.

Because RvP + Rooney up front just isn't good enough?

RvP + Rooney + Falcao is obviously better than RvP + Rooney + Welbeck + Hernandez (especially as they have just the league and FA cup left) but Falcao's cost is ridiculous.
