he scored 9 goals in 25 for you last year

Not for me he didn't - I've no interest in either side tbh - Wiki credit him with 20 goals in 90 league appearances for Man Utd - granted a lot would have been as sub but still, if you are a sub then you generally aren't good enough to start which in and of itself doesn't suggest a £16m price tag!

*edit*

Mind you, Wiki also says this:

Critics have acknowledged the strength in Welbeck's style of play such as his work-rate, pace and intelligence in following tactical command, especially after his performance in both of the knock-out stage matches against Real Madrid.[81] Welbeck has been praised as a big-game player

So maybe not so much with the accuracy! :D

Watch Welbeck go and do a Sturridge now, haha. Could be a fantastic signing if not used on the wing, i think.

It really wouldn't surprise me, the potential is there.

Sturridge had a good scoring rate from City right through to signing for Liverpool, and he showed quality on the ball and a good shot from any angle at every club. Welbeck looks like a complete and utter donkey whenever he's on camera, with or without the ball. He's scored so many flukey ass goals, miskick, hits heel, goes on.

He won't do a Sturridge because Sturridge is and was quality from 18years old. He might score goals, but that isn't important. Giroud is scoring goals but crap and his lack of ability hurts us in big games. He's failed to score in any game against top opposition for us, and he doesn't fight or hold up the ball against better teams.

Welbeck might do the same, tap in some chances from 6 yards but when asked to provide quality and a final product against tougher opposition he'll be poor because he has no real talent. He's a very poor passer, he's a very poor crosser, and he's a very poor shot. Almost anyone can tap in from 6 yards. You win titles because in bigger games the best strikers offer SO much more than that basic ability. In a tough game with backs to the wall a simple clearance can be turned by Aguero into a 40 yard multi defender beating run with a goal on the end. Welbeck can knock it long towards the corner, run after it, then back heel it off the pitch. Giroud can take the ball down, run 4 yards, and lose it.

Utd have RVP and Falcao, even Rooney offers that now and again, City have Aguero, Dzeko, Jovetic, Negredo(or not any more, not sure), Chelsea have Costa, Remy and Drogba as their "weak" back up striker. Arsenal have Giroud, Welbeck and Sanogo... all three are worse than the other teams worst striker.....

Getting Welbeck is laughably stupid, beyond laughably stupid. Ignoring Fabregas this summer, getting Ozil last summer, getting Welbeck, decisions that will screw us completely for years to come. Complete and utter failure by Wenger.

This is pretty much spot on!
