Man United Falcao deal, the details: Man United only entered the race at 6am. They'll pay £12m now, but a permanent deal would raise outlay to £57m next season. Monaco are paying £150k of his £350k wage currently. City/Madrid were front runners last night, but Man United offered more as a total deal (£57m total), although not more in wages than City and Madrid. United will only pay the full £350k per week next season, so it's 12 million now as a 'loan' fee, then £45 million next season to make it permanent. Is it bad that I keep laughing everytime they describe Man Utd as being a "rival" to Arsenal?

It isn't 2012 anymore Sky.
Actually, last season aside, it was more like 2008 since Arsenal were remotely close to Man United. So you're right - they're hardly rivals..

Look at Sturridge, who would have thought he'd turn into the player he is now when he was at Chelsea and City etc. Granted he didn't get as much playing time as Welbeck, but still...

You could see from his time at Bolton that Sturridge could improve/was promising. On the other hand Welbeck has shown none of this.

Bad signing for Arsenal imo.

Welbeck is more of a runner, creating space, not a clinical finisher. I don't think he's really what Arsenal need.

I'm happy with £16m, fairly reasonable price. I'd have preferred not to sell to Arsenal though... but he doesn't particuarly worry me, he'll never be great.

I want rid of Cleverley though, we should pay Everton to take him.

I don't agree, Arsenal will get goals from Sanchez, Walcott, Ramsey, Ozil, Ox etc. What they need is a striker who can be a focal point and who is intelligent enough to play the midfielders in. Welbeck does that well.

I'm not so sure about that, Welbeck's final ball is often poor.
