Trick or treating

It's a thing in Sweden, my part at least, American culture is very strong here.
We had a couple of groups knock, neighbours kids mostly.
I said they would probably come at the weekend rather than today but we completely forgot to buy sweets.
1st kids got an apology but I know their dad so I'll pop round with something.
2nd group of kids I gave a 2 litre bottle of coke... Lol. They absolutely **** themselves with joy, was pretty funny to watch. I'm guessing their parents forbid such unhealthy drinks :p

last year we got a gang of 10 hoody wearing teenage kids trying it on too, not menacing at all, thank F for video door bells. Was definitely expecting some "trick" but house was intact.... Preparing for similar tonight, set the house to lockdown mode silent running. Söt in the dark hiding.... Sad
.. lol
Maybe buy a packet of fags for them.

Sold the last pumpkin yesterday which is always the case for all the years I worked there. People have a whinge about it. Don't leave things to the last minute. No sympathy for those who do.

Why do the supermarkets put pumpkins on sale in September though? Once they've been carved they don't last long at all - if you buy your pumpkin when they first go on sale, it'll be a puddle of mush by the 31st!

Most of them "ain't all there"

You realise it's mostly just "performance"?
Also, goth chicks *drool*

Of course I know its performance. Thats my point.
You cannot say that a very very small minority who go to the extreme in something are completely normal in their thinking.

NO idea why people always think the peak specimen is the example of all ;)

I lucked out last year as it was tipping it down so I don't think anyone bothered, but looks like it'll be clearer tonight. I'm just gonna purposefully go out to do some late window shopping tonight after work to hopefully miss most of them. I can't be bothered with it.

You mean like people who like football, or cars, or video games, or anything else? If you meant "small minority who go to the extreme" then why did you put "most"?

Nobody does, that's just your imagination. Doesn't change the fact that peak goth chick >>>> peak non-goth chick :D

ready for them at bazzas house

We didn’t sell ours until three weeks ago. If kept in dark and cool, it would have lasted until today if left un carved. As i have bought a butternut squash (in the same family as pumpkin) 2.5 weeks before I used it and was fine.

We had some pumpkins that gone mouldy as got squished at the bottom of the potato trolley they get delivered in. The smell is vile.

found a peppa pig advent calender for xmas for the 1 year old the only one i seen in lidl.

she mad on it seems its always way way before the time in the SM.

I’ve always found it amusing that Americans who typically hate the concept of free handouts in society popularised a holiday that involves people going around random people's houses asking for free handouts.

American companies are always looking for some government handout, Chips Act ($280 billion ) and some $18Billion for rural broadband.

So far this has been the busiest I can remember and the earliest, a steady stream since 1600. It is half term around here so that might be why its earlier.

Just saw a house on my street where they have a (non-menacing) spider on a string from an upper window and lower it down onto the children when they knock, which is pretty darn funny / cool :D

I’m currently hiding in the lounge whilst the wife is making dins, with lights visible from the outside

She says they won’t knock and to stop being a wimp but I’m borderline having a panic attack… straight to OcUK, they can’t get me here.

Or can they…
