Trolling going too far...

Awful people. I hope the police get involved in this if they can.

As for /b/, i never quite got into it. Something about the racism and homophobia and general douchebaggery just didn't appeal to me. I dunno why.

The Sky news quote of the day "The group claims to number 9000 and is growing"

I'd love to know where they found out that 4chan numbers over 9000!!!!!!!! :D

You're not particularly good at effectively patronising people are you? Although I'm sure you think you're being clever. ;)

I'm not the one that felt the need to make a thread abusing you ;)

You obviously hold more emotion in this discussion than I do :)

Facebook does have a lot to answer for, it invites every single person in the world (regardless of how net savvy they are) to make a profile and connect with all their real life friends and relatives, without warning them that the internet's a downright savage environment with little to no consequence.
I do believe Facebook should have far better mechanisms for reporting these "griefers" and then banning them.

If someone did that to a condolences page of someone close to me, I'd come on here asking for help to grief the little rat back. It's about all you can do other than delete the comments and bite your lip.

I don't see why you can't put a ban on it, what is physically stopping us other than you thinking it might not be appropriate? Like I said you'd have to even get proof with a private detective or gather your own proof but regardless all it would mean is that people would have to break up before going off with someone else. It's hardly impossible to investigate but I agree in many cases it would be very difficult.

Lol yes I acknowledged it was stupid. I was just saying I think it'd be an idea as I don't see why, if it was possible to prove it, then it should be ignored as it can cause distress, money problems etc. I think your taking it too serious to suggest it's a daily mail idea though.

Physically stopping us? Due Process for a start.
To take a criminal prosecution to court you need to have an independent witness. A PI on someones pay roll isn't going to satisfy the CPS. At the minute, divorce preceedings aren't cheap and the court system is already at bursting point. To add yet another crime which doesn't serve the public interest at all will only make matters worse and ensure less time and resources are given to prosecute important cases.
Someone cheats on someone else, yes it's a shame for that person cheated upon but it doesn't effect society in any way and to therefore introduce legislation to curb it will just be seen (rightly so) as government trying to interfere into the private domain; yet again. This is not the role of government.
There are people out there who commit serious crimes and we need to be able to deal with them. We do not need Mrs Smith going to court because Mr Smith came home from a Christmas party with a bit of lipstick on his collar and a pair of knickers in his pocket.

I can't really understand why someone would take so much pleasure from causing pain in this way. It goes beyond "just having a laugh".

I suspect the people involved have been bullied themselves in some shape or form and find the internet an easy way of boosting their self esteem.

I think they see their job as reminding people this is the internet and anything goes. Sort of like Al in Deadwood not wanting to be annexed. Enter at your own peril.

If you don't want to be mocked/trolled, then don't put your life on the internet.

The troll name comes from the 'trollface' picture that accompanies some postings.

What? No it doesn't. Stupid article.

Awful behaviour, but am I surprised? Nope.

If you don't want to be mocked/trolled, then don't put your life on the internet.

Also, I agree with this. Many people dig their own grave when it comes to the internet.

So are you saying that the internet should only be used by people who accept that they maybe hounded to their death.

That's a bit like saying you should only live in a particular street if you're willing to accept that people may camp outside your house and make life a permanent misery.

There will be banter, but to target an individual en masse for a sustained period is unacceptable. To continue after death is beyond belief.

These people are morons.
