Turkey Grand Prix 2010, Istanbul Park - Race 7/19

Decent race, enjoyed it.

As for the red bull incident, I can't see why webber didn't move over, he has always been hot headed when put under pressure, and seems to just see red. You only have to look back to Australia to see how stupid webber can be at times. I think they're both as bad as each other.

.

webber had no need to move, his racing line was his own and he was going in a straight line, vettel had no need to move right as quickly as he did.

webber was well within his rights to hold his ground, its up to the overtaking car to try to take the place without hitting.

having a damn nightmare trying to post in this thread at the mo, keeps timing out.

It was Vettel who was being hot headed - Webber was very calm and static in the middle of the track

I see what you mean, but the way I see it webber was still squeezing vettel onto the white line, what did he expect him to do? Drop back even though he was basically past him. Whatever was going to happen vettel was going to have the corner, webber should have just conceded, and hoped vettel was going to go deep and try and take him on the next few corners a la hamilton.

Once when Button decided saving the fuel was gay and jumped on Lewis.

This does seem to be the case.

Hamilton probably thought that once that order had been given, he was not going to have Button attempt to overtake.

But once Button made his intention clear (despite the team order), Hamilton got his racing head back on and took the place back off of Button, to show him who the boss is.

After that, Hamilton quickly pulled away from Hamilton to show just how much faster he could drive.

Also, I'm not sure if you saw, but for someone winning their first race of the year - Hamilton didnt look happy. I have a feeling that Hamilton is not happy with Button.

They were both on the same fuel saving program, I'd bet to re-pass him Hamilton changed his again. Button was reeling him in when they were both on the same fuel saving program. I doubt button broke a team order, they would have been more calls to tell him he wasn't saving fuel if that was the case.

I imagine Mclaren will go back to the old ways of whoever is leading after the last stop wins the race.

I doubt it because Vettel would have to be a lot wider to get around the corner to start with, imo anyway

It didnt make him look silly at all, he did exactly what he is paid to do - and as the driver with No 1 on his car, he shouldnt be asked to do anything else

McLaren had given both drivers to hold station till the end of the race.
This causes Hamilton to slow down and start driving within himself.
Button then decides it would be a good idea to try and overtake Hamilton. He succeeds.
Hamilton is shocked that Button is doing this, even though the order not to overtake has been given. He then fights back and puts Button firmly in his place. He even pulls out a big gap, in a very short space of time to show Button that he is much faster and not capable of driving as fast as him.

If Button doesnt want to follow team-orders then fair enough...but at least let his team and Hamilton know that he will not follow them. This keeps things fair.

What Button did was very cheeky.

I think that sebs feathers have been shaken after webbers last 2 wins. I read that webber had a new wing that seb didn't have as there was only 1 part. I think the pressure is getting to him.

Loving people trying to blame webber for this one. Its about time someone stopped the drivers changing direction and using the car to push another in the hope that the other car yields. Whats it going to take, a death for them to stop using the car as a weapon.

Vettel will think twice about doing it again to webber thats for sure.

Hamilton was held up by a Virgin, thats why Button got a run on him, Button was still saving fuel just as much as Hamilton.

So yeah that was a fun race to watch, me and my flat mate think eddie looks like a puppet and you learn something new every time you look at him! :D

Anyway, i feel so sorry for webber getting side swiped by a kid whos scared his championship hopes will be gone (like rubens last year). Hope someone punches him really...

At least hammy accepted that he was just given the race this time...

Given that there is usually only one stop this year and its usually in the first 1/3 of the race, I cant see either driver agreeing to that (given change in tyres etc etc) there is no reason to agree to that imo - especially after the great racing they were both able to do

Hamilton was held up by a Virgin, thats why Button got a run on him, Button was still saving fuel just as much as Hamilton.

I wouldnt bother if I were you, he is completely blind to anything good Button does - and tries to criticize JB for nearly everything, no matter what

You don't even know thats what happened. I seem to remember Hamilton trying hard enough to get passed button when they should have been saving the car a few races ago. I don't believe at all that Hamilton dropped him, JB was just shown that hamilton would risk both spots by banging wheels. I just think Jenson then settled for what he had.

Button showed today he easily had the measure of Hamiltons pace.

Have to say its one of the better races this season....did like the little battle Hammy and Button were having and thankfully Hammy got back his position...luckily they didnt do a RBR lol.

Hope that McLaren get another win in Canada in 2 weeks time...preferably Hammy.

You expect Vettel to slow down and let Webber back through?

Vettel moved over and Webber didn't. Webber's done it the other way round with many people where the other people have been forced to move onto the grass to avoid him.

It's one of the standard things in F1. You get in front, you try to take advantage. Races have been won by less than half a car length.

Of course he wouldn't slow down and let Webber through, all Vettel had to do was brake in a straight line and the corner would have been his.
