Turkey Grand Prix 2010, Istanbul Park - Race 7/19

I hope Vettel crashes out of the next 3 races. :)

It would add great enjoyment to my F! experience since it looks like RB could be favoring him

This is the way I saw it.

Vettel was faster than Webber but not fast enough to make a full overtake before the next corner. He turned right too soon and caused the accident. Webber is in the clear as far as I'm concerned. Horner needs to take a step back and look at the facts.

Pretty much the way I saw it too. I guess Horner is just trying to keep the 'name' driver happy :(

RB Helmut Marko said
"It was Vettel's line," Marko ranted. "It was Vettel's corner. Mr Mateschitz (Red Bull's owner) is not happy."

And Horner hanging his dirty washing out in public just goes to show what dumb ass he is.
If that happend to Ferrari or Mclaren they just would have said.
"They are racing drivers this will happen at some point no big deal YES we lost ponits but we are still there fighting
we will talk about it in our next meeting and the drivers are the best of friends"

i think if Webber and Vettel weren't team mates then Webber did nothing wrong but since they are team mates and the first rule is don't crash into your team mate' i think Webber should have gave more room.

he didn't do anything wrong from a racing point, but he should have thought about the team and not tried to squeeze Vettel. Vettel was ahead and on the inside of the corner.

its still Vettels fault for trying to push Webber over, just Webber should have thought about that happening.

Red Bull has shown themselves to be a Bunch of *******, Anybody with eyes saw Webber going straight whilst Seb came over to the right.
Anybody that says different is deluded or has alterior motives, Red Bull are about to become the most unpopular team in F1.

and just as easily Button could be leading if it werent for the team fubar in Monaco lol

actually no, button qual'd in 8th place, if he had finished in that position which is highly likely due to the nature of monaco and the fact no one else managed a overtake (asides from msc on alonso but thats whole other kettle of fish) then he would still be behind webber.

just watched the button and hamilton interviews, when hamilton tried to overtake vettel he said vettel pulled a dangerous move on him turning right into him when the next corner is a left hander, and pulled the same thing on webber, some dangerous driving from vettel.

100% Vettel's fault, he was driving like a tit and it cost him not finishing the race, Webber was lucky to salvage third from that race.

I would like to see a replay of that.

There is certainly a picture starting to emerge of Vettel being totally incompetent at racing closely with other cars.

Webber didn't squeeze Vettel he just held his line. Vettel drove into the side of Mark's car, you can see his steering wheel turn to the right, twice (and this isn't the first time this season that Seb has moved right into the car along side him). There was more than enough room for both cars at that point and Seb could have braked and got out of the move if he had felt that he was going to hit his team mate.

End of the day Webber is a racing driver with his best ever shot at the one and only goal in F1... to be champion! There was no way in hell he was ever going to yield to a half ***** over take from anyone even if it was his team mate. What is more important to these drivers?..... Constructors championship or drivers?! We all know the answer to that. It's racing and Webber was well within his rights to hold his line. It was all for Vettle to do and he well and truly stuffed it up. Horner and RBR coming out and saying otherwise makes them look like a bunch of *****. Where is Mr Nuts? Wasn't he all bravado before this race?

I'm surprised Horner is siding with Webber even if he really does think its his fault.

We all know how aggressive Mark is, in the same kind of situation again hes hardly likely to yield if he feels hes been hard done by this time. And blaming it on Mark gives the green light to Vettel to try similar again. A recipe for another disaster I reckon.

I wouldn't say incompetent, just reckless.

Probably about right.

Re: the relative pace between the McLarens. Jenson actually had the faster car out of the two of them - his fastest race lap was a couple of tenths quicker, he set more fastest laps than Hamilton IIRC, and he was certainly able to cruise back up to the lead three quite handily after he got back by Schumacher. Which kind of proves the point I was trying to make on here the other day - you can be as fast as you like, but it doesn't always lead to you winning. Hamilton finally seems to be getting that, and is getting himself into positions where he can take advantage of carnage ahead without having to go on 'maximum attack' for the full race distance.

I could be uncharitable and say "about bloody time", but I won't. He drove a superb race, well within himself and the car, and took a deserved win. And Button certainly deserved to get on the podium with him given the pace he showed.

As for RBR - *****. That is pretty much all I can say about them right now.

Vettel is young - he is going through the growing pain mistakes that Hamilton did when he first came onto the scene. This is the first real year where he is expected to be at the top and takes losing or being second best very badly.

Hamilton had that pressure as soon as he arrived in F1 and only now is starting to mature. Vettel will do the same - he really needs to work on his overtaking!!!

LOL at the Seb Bull pic! :D
