Turkish Grand Prix 2011, Istanbul Park - Race 4/19

This is the first practise I've managed to see the season but where has anthony davidson gone? His commentary was quite good I thought.

edit: an when did vettel sort his hair out?! :p

Davidson is currently at Spa in FP3 of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup.

Chandhok will replace him in commentary tomorrow and Sunday.

Yeah Vettel finally cut his hair, some people are suggesting this resulted in his off this morning as he had such success with the long hair. :p

Given that Vettel is effectively going to be missing a whole day of practise, I'm hoping this bodes well for Hamilton on race day and qualifying.

McLaren must prevent Vettel from being in a position to time trial. If they can get in front of him on the first lap, they stand a good chance of beating Vettel. As per normal, if Vettel is allowed to lead on lap 1, he will start time trialling and will almost certainly win.

My God.

Williams need to give Maldonado his money back and tell him to FO back to GP3 or something.

Hulkenberg may not have the money to bring to the team initially, but with the results he could score they'd at least get some money for finishing the season 6th/7th in the constructors. I fear they've pinned this car around the development of their mini-gearbox and Maldonado's money funded it. It's just not worked out.

This Jaguar deal sounds like it could be a precursor to Williams being bought out by TATA in 2/3 years time - especially with F1 starting to make inroads in India with the first Indian GP coming up in a few months.

Good thinking.

It sounds so believable, that I'll be stealing this opinion and peddling it myself to feel smart.
TATA, not the most glamorous name though. :( Would you reckon they'd use the TATA name or another company? Jaguar racing name to return?

Could alonso and vettel lose out from the reduced practise time? Another good weekend for mclaren in the race?

Just like I've said in every race thread so far, I feel confident that Ferrari can do the job when it matters.
The race.
It'll be a 1-2 for them.

:p

I've been tempted to not show confidence to see if their luck improved but there's no honour in that.
I'm sure their race pace will be reasonable-ish, Massa is good here and as we saw from the last race, strategy is everything. I think there's a chance.
