Turkish Grand Prix 2011, Istanbul Park - Race 4/19

I hope mclaren only do one run in q3. It does seem tyres are marginally more important than 1st place, depending on track and with that corner, surly these tyres aren't going to last.

If that trend continues could be great, when top runners mess up and end up in 10th. Or even lower if they do a webber and keep on the hards. Could create some interesting races.

Proof of a chilly weekend in Turkey.

Look at Heidfeld and Hamilton. :p

I reckon rbr, mclaren and Ferrari all do this [1 run in Q3].

This may be the best strategy, however, for Vettel, I suspect they will send him out twice. Vettel's strength is to time trial from the front - that's where he gets his wins from. If he isn't leading on the first lap, Vettel tends to get bogged down. It is very important that Vettel gets pole position, if he is to go on to win the race.

I think that this weekend, we shall see a mixture of 1 and 2 runs for the front runners, in Q3.

They can still do this with only one quali lap leaving extra tyres for the race. We have seen Vettel do this before - go out last minute in Q3 and put in an excellent (pole) time. Plus, as discussed previously, the RB DRS is designed to give extra time in quali. RBR don't seem to be as far ahead as they were, but I suspect they have more to give.

I am not convinced they do (of course I hope they do though). One thing is for sure though, it is getting more and more urgent that RBR sort their KERS issues.

I would be embarrassed to be a Ferrari supporter at the moment - they basically copy the championship winning car and do a rubbish job at it. What happened to innovation?

I found this quite interesting, notice the cables at the bottom:

Feeding electricity to the front wing?
