That has been my experience. The worst thing you can do it fil out the form and give them you details as that's when the real problems start even if you are correctly and legally unlicenced. They act like phishing Emails once you respond that's when they use your details and can get more aggressive.

What real problems? Give me some examples and tell me what these people have done to put it right. With evidence.

You have already been given examples dozens of times since you started first posting in this thread. How about the case in this thread where the form was filled out and they used that data to increase harassment. Inspectors was let in the house on friendly terms and didn't want to believe there was no TV so further increased harassment. Complaint procedure placed and they didn't stop instead increasing harassment to weekly. Forms filled out again and they didn't stop. Many people have said how they filled out the form and months later it came back to bite them as the inspectors used that data to target harassment all so they can hit their own commissioned sales targets.

Well your feeling is wrong as has been proven many times now. What about all the people who have filled out the form and continued to get letters and worse. We go through the same loop every so often. You come in post a bunch of lies, we point out what you are saying is not true then you go "I'm done in here. You lot continue to get letters." then months later you turn up again all because you want to pretend, we are not filling out the form which we have done. Your the one pretending we are doing something wrong when we are not. You have all these false feelings and seem to act like your right because of made up feelings that are not correct. This entire 30seconds you keep going on about top stop them is a load of nonsense from my experience.

A: You keep saying its just a quick 30second fix when it’s often not and it's been pointed out multiple times that often it's not.
B: You said “I asked before has anyone on here every ever challenged them or put a formal complaint in for been harrased. e.t.c and not a single person said they did so people are just winging for the sake of it.” You lied about not a single person responded and you lied about its just people winging for the sake of it when you know that is not true.
C: You keep going on about feelings you have that don't match reality. Then you pretend like those feeling are correct even though they are not.

As for your UFO nonsense I have no idea what any of that is about. EDIT: Also you are acting like we haven't filled out the form and it's all our fault they are harassing us. Only many of us have filled out the form and it didn't work. They then used that data to personalize the harassment against us. As you know as it has been pointed out to you multiple times. You keep ignoring this and pretending like we are not filling out the form. It is not a 30 second fix.

They probably don't even work for the BBC but a third party contractor. What background checks does that contractor do before they employ them to come into your house? I hope you phoned the BBC (or contract company) to validate their identity and that they were indeed acting on behalf of the BBC. They almost certainly were but I still consider them a stranger unless everything was validated. A piece of plastic with a logo and name on it is completely worthless to identify someone.

They are little more than a random sales person working on commission and people let them into their homes. It's really weird because I wouldn't let a Sky sales person into my home uninvited. Entry to your home is entirely for their benefit. You don't gain anything from it at all.

Still, it's your home so your choice.

It's certainly the law that if you watch a live broadcast you must purchase a TV license. But it's not the law that you must fill in a form to tell them. It's also not the law that you must let them into your property to check (unless they have a court signed warrant - which they will only have if they have prior evidence that you are watching live TV without a license). It's not the law that you need a license unless you prove otherwise.

My wife occasionally watches live TV so I have a TV license. But I would still not let them into my home. If I no longer needed a license and cancelled it then I would have even less reason to let them into my home.

I hope you handed over all your electronic devices; PC, laptop, phone, tablet, etc, and gave them your login details to everything. Without doing that letting them in to see if you have a TV connected to an aerial does absolutely nothing to prove you haven't been watching live TV. All it does is give them the opportunity to either make something up (they are on sales commission), pressure you into buying a license, or find something completely innocent you hadn't realised could receive live TV.

Just cancelled mine as I don't watch any "normal" TV and haven't done for eons, I've done the form and refund request, should I now cancel the DD?

What can I expect from here, I'm owed some money back so that's good.
 
If you’ve filled in the form stating you don’t watch live broadcasts, you shouldn’t hear anything for 2 years, and then you fill in another etc etc.
Personally after the 1st two years was up, I didn’t fill in the form again and they send at least one threatening letter a month which I chuck in the recycling bin without even opening them.
Sadly I still haven’t had the promised visit from their goons.
