So one of the BBC's arguments is Netflix are putting their prices up

Yeah i cancelled my Netflix subscription about 4 months ago.

Yea Netflix is also way over priced. But unlike the BBC, Netflix bids for the latest shows and movies. The BBC don't do that anymore. They make and air mostly trash TV now.

Even BBC news is a bit crap. They over simplify events and completely ignore others.

They made a big thing about Tenant returning to Dr Who like it was going to save the franchise, but it's still an awful woke show. Says it all. The writing in these modern BBC shows is just bad.

BBC had a place in its current model. But there is so much content now that it no longer needs exist.

Times move on. Things that were a need before turn optional. BBC is now very much optional.

These days i'll wait for a season to finish on whatever service, pay a month to watch it and then cancel.

I'm currently waiting for Richard Hammond's Workshop to be done on Discovery+.

I watch a lot of Youtube these days, there are more interesting, more entertaining, better content creators on Youtube, i recommend Count Dankula Mad Lads for entertaining history on some nutty people, if you're in to long form politics there is an endless choice of that, if like me you like classic BWM's M539 Restorations is really good..... the list goes on and on....

I am like you, what other recommendations do you have?

Dunno TBH i've only just recently found this channel, he is very good, a rare breed of self depreciating German with a sense of humour.

I'm very picky when it comes to content creators, quite a lot of them try too hard or don't prepare properly so they are a bit all over the place, i'm already half way through all his content, so far a couple of others i have found didn't really do it for me, and i can't even remember who they were.
The Alpina B7 project and the grey E30 are some of the best in his channel.
If i do find more i'll try to remember to post back.

I also find it a little hard to watch when content creators are clearly talented but there content is a bit all over the place. Some gems out there though.

But I think the same about the BBC content. Most of it is garbage for my tastes.

I mean look at today's listings. It is just antiques/bidding shows watching other people buy/bid on things, and some stuff about fraudsters. Then the news. Riveting stuff.
Yes I agree but it would be a major hassle to get TV license for a month then cancel and then get it a few months later. Not sure if it's even possible.

The whole process needs to be streamlined but above all the harassment must be stopped. I know a few people mostly women that no way could they stomach the red threatening letters so they would rather pay for something they don't use. The BBC knows that intimidation, bullying and harassment works.

Sreten is from Serbia, he's not German :p

Do love his channel though. The only car content I can stand personality wise, and also very very technically informative.

Ok, fair enough. :) he knows his stuff, if i can ever afford an E28 i'm sending it to him, i'd rather spend £40K on a mint E28 M5 / E30 M3 / E34 M5 or E36 M3 with the 320 HP S62 engine than i would any brand new modern car.

I feel in love the first time i saw one of these when i was about 10, now i'm 47.
He's waiting to find a wrecked one of these him self to do it.....

Same... if i want those services i'll seek them out and pay for them.
How would you make their radio service a subscription model (there's enough adverts on other platforms, i pay to not have them) given subscription based radio doesn't exist over here (ie - Sat radio etc) and streaming isn't a direct comparable solution?
Likewise, what about their educational services; would you make that a subscription model?
R&D (for example the BBC was one of the first to trial HD, Sky was a few days later in 2006, and push broadcast digital standards in the UK)?
World Services, how do you propose that to work exactly?

Unfortunately, most in here think TV and only TV when in reality the BBC offers a lot more.
