Yeah that's where I got to, when you select yes and put in your number, it then says can't do it online.
That's deliberate to make you phone up. Then the people on the phone will grill you and tell you that you need a license even if you don't. Bs them just to get through the process, if you answer honestly they will refuse to process the no license needed.
I had to escalate to the manager, then to complaints, then to legal, and ofc the legal person agreed with me because I was right.

Or do what I did mid phone-call after being quizzed about what I was watching... put the phone down and cancel the direct debit.

Tell them you're dead :D
I've seen others say this but isn't it fraud? I'm all for cancelling it as I genuinely hardly use it and so can easily simply stop using it completely and so don't need a licence. But all the stuff I'm reading about the visits, letters, possible warrants - to be honest I may just keep paying it to not have the hassle of all that and the risk.

You aren't gaining anything from it so I doubt it. We also don't have any legal obligation to the BBC, it's like telling Tesco clubcard you died. If they proove you aren't dead, so what? You still don't have to buy a license.

It's not like you're faking your own death and having your debts wiped.

Cave in to bullies and intimidation huh?

I don't watch broadcast TV and I don't have a license, I just get the letters which are thrown in the bin. Never had anyone knocking on the door and if they do I'll tell them to FO

But you can cancel without phoning.
I dont think you can anymore. Last I heard phoning is the only way to cancel now and they send you though a phone gauntlet to cancel. Unless sending an old fashioned letter still works? Though I wouldn't be surprised if they "lost" the letter and so didn't cancel.

Away on a short break at the minute so watching live TV for the first time in ages.
How the H are the majority of the channels still not in HD.
I'd have thought they were all at a minimum 1080p and select few now in 4k.

My children were utterly confused that they couldn't just watch what they wanted when they wanted and daughter was looking for Plex. Lol

but there aren't children amongst the apparent 15million idiots who watched beeb 'celebity' traitors junk last year ? please make itthe advertising for this years show stop.

netflix will be attacking this tv gendre when they figure out how, it's the new black, maybe an international celebrity traitors ? maybe trump can compere it when he's out of the west wing.
