Click on the room, where you get the option on the right to look at staffing, queues etc., below that are buttons like edit, close, sell etc.
This was it, thank you! This game needs a better guide or tutorial..

Sounds much more strategic than earlier levels.
Little tip for other levels though. On the other page I posted my massive research room, well I've unlocked the Super Computer and upgraded it with 50 of those and that's 2% research power each. So you can go back to that level to unlock your new rooms etc and then return to the level you're on
I am finding the university the easiest so far. It is the quickest I have expanded. Untrained staff makes them super cheap and you can then mould them to you every whim.
When did people go back to 3 star things? I'm on university now, just about to start the researching, but I'm wondering if other people have gone back to 3 star other hospitals already?
I 3 star my hospitals and then move on. I find it a bit cheaty if I was to go back and improve a poorer hospital with the upgraded tech I've encountered later on. I do see the appeal of doing it though.
Think a replay may require a self imposed "no going back" rule. 3 stars and move on sort of thing.
After playing University I think I actually prefer hiring untrained staff and giving them the training I want, though I guess it will slow my progress.
I didn't think you could after about level 4, I've attempted Melt Downs 3 times now and cant progress because all the illnesses i need to cure cant be unlocked because I have no cash.
Without going to a prev level and unlocking the tech that way I'd have no way of doing it. Its just not possible to get the cures in to research 80% of the illnesses on that map
What's the best way for making staff happier, short of giving them all big pay rises?
I'm on the third hospital and can't seem to get staff happiness above about 69%, despite hiring more staff to try and spread the workload (and starting to specialise the staff).

Mr X instead of going to the GP, goes to the toilets, and then a vending machine before going to sit outside the GP, which allocates him 2nd in the queue (2). Then, being a class berk he is, he goes to the toilet again and gets bumped into 5th place in the queue before giving up in frustration and marching out of the hospital.
OK so I observed the AI behavioural patterns on a few patients moments ago and have come to the conclusion that AI is a mess in the game. Either it is a bug or is just the way the game is as I can barely remember Theme Hospital from my DOS days.
Mr X goes to see a GP (3x GP skill) and isn't fully diagnosed by the end of his visit so he goes to the MEGA (expensive!) X-Ray room for further diagnosis. After this he still needs to see the GP as he is only 59% diagnosed.

On another note I'm upto 8.5mill on Fleminton and swimming in resources so I'm focusing heavily on getting my staff upto V or Max training. All research is tapped out with the exception being two items (generate kudosh and $) that never expire.
This, I found deleting all the items designed to stop boredom speeds it up as people no longer decide to go and read a leaflet instead of going into the GPS office
