Two Point Hospital

I need a PC i suppose to play this game, that and the other half wants to try the sims out, any recommendations for a cheapish build for this? I only need the tower.

Background, we both have Mac's and have 1 G8 MicroServer.

Nope, it has a native Mac version (and linux) so you don't need a Windows box if your Mac is up to it :)

I am running a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013)

I think my issues are the graphics on this, Intel Iris 1536 MB....Hmmm maybe i need to do more research!

Ah Retina so it's 2560x1600... yea I can see it struggling with that, it runs "ok" on my Intel HD 4000 but it's only running @ 1366x768.

Played this a bit too much of this over the weekend so giving it a break.

It's also time-consuming, you think it's been 30 minutes and then you check the time and you've lost 2 hours. :D

Just discovered that your research continues (albeit slowly) even when you're playing a different hospital... I was working on Smogley and since so much of that level hinges on effective staff training I had the game on high-speed when suddenly it told me I'd unlocked the Jab Master III machine, which is what I was currently researching in Flemington before I moved on (and I had no research department in Smogley so it wasn't that)...

So it may be worth popping back to your old hospitals with research departments and setting research targets at them (I know some people waited in an earlier hospital and unlocked all the projects but I didn't)

Pay rise is the easiest (throw money at them). Make sure they aren't hungry or thirsty (drinking fountains and food everywhere), higher prestige working and break rooms help.

and in addition to what RAVE says above - go into the Overview settings and increase the amount of time they can spend on breaks to make sure they are super well rested

Cheers, I shall do that :)
I'd already got plenty of room items so I'll try longer rests and putting in more food/snacks in room

I had to put in a large toilet facility as I realised my normal 3 cubicles per building wasn't enough for one of the plots.

I have ended up having one large toilet room in the first room and then a few smaller rooms in the wings.

I bought this game on Sunday and still haven't found time to play :( :(

Real life is massively overrated :p

Same.

I've only unlocked the second hospital and barely anything else. Everyone on here sounds farrrrrrrrrr more advanced than I am, I've not unlocked hardly any of the items either, such as nice posters and generally room trinkets.

I've barely scratched the surface with the game and feel like I'm a right duffer compared to some of the posts here! :D

Probably the best part of any game really - that sense of pride and accomplishment (:D) as you progress through researching all the new gear.

After hitting 10mill/3 stars in Flemington I just had to move on, and decided to visit Smogsy. I've made a half decent start, struggling to balance the training of the doctors and nurses whilst keeping a skeleton crew of staff in place. The building layout isn't at all bad though so I can't see this map being an issue so far...

Smogsy is probably the easiest map so far. Including the main building, I've unlocked just 2 surrounding ones and am upto 2mill already and very close to 3 stars.

At this stage you will without a doubt have to stop using Gen. Diagnosis rooms and moved over to the Fluid Analysis (upgraded).

Keep training up RAW new staff and ensure their characteristics are sound before hiring them as their starting wages are lower and easily controlled as they get promoted over time.

Lastly, in the early stages of a map build a Research lab in a LARGE room. Over time keep adding servers to it to increase research speed, whilst training your researchers. The $1k research project that gives you $20k completes so fast that you'll be rolling in it.
