I can read between the lines. The first page of this thread, at least, is littered with disgusting comments from horrible human beings. Yes, these criminals should be punished. No, the answer is not to eradicate immigrants is it?

Only many of the group were Sikhs and Hindus (Jerome Joe doesn't sound too Islamic either).

So by assuming because they have brown skin and are involved in a child sex ring they must all be Muslims is pretty racist.

This is illogical.

If we observe that those involved in the sex ring have dark skin and incorrectly conclude they are Muslim, the injured party is Islam. We are falsely claiming all sex offenders are Muslims.

Islam is not a race or ethnicity, its a religion. It would therefore not be considered to be racism.

No, because their skin colour/ethnicity formed part of that prejudice. Put it this way had they all been white would you have assumed it was a Muslim grooming gang, I suspect not.

No, its not prejudice, because their belief is based upon a series of high profile cases where the culprits were Muslim.

If they are wrong, the aggrieved party is not black/asian people, but Muslims.

If the original posters were saying 'of course they will be black/asian' and it turned out they were not, then it would be racism.

Which further adds to the point it's more a cultural issue than a religious one, otherwise we would expect to see similar abuses in non-South Asian Muslim communities.

I'm talking about these particular cases where people think it's the religion. It's not, there are many reasons behind these abuses and there's a greater link to culture than religion here. Your point supports mine.

People abuse others when given the opportunity, and it does not make any difference what colour they are or what religion they follow.
