Thread necro, but trial concluded today with six men found guilty (BBC story, Telegraph version). How many more of these stories will continue to be uncovered? One of the disturbing things about them is how the victims view it as essentially normalised due to the scale and regularity of it.

Why are none of the victims pakistani girls or indian girls? Are their parents looking out for them? Are they less likely to accept a mobile phone from some 30 year old men?

Perhaps not in this case but some have been Indian/Pakistani victims in other places. Culturally parents do have a tighter grip on their children, particularly girls. Asian girls are also less likely to be exposed to family problems resulting from alcohol or drug use or come from 'broken' families and as such are less likely to run away, be truant etc.
But obviously every family is different.

Just to be clear, for the simple folk, this is an issue where Asian men are taking advantage of vulnerable girls.
Add whatever labels you think are needed to suit your views, but essentially it's a group of men from a particular part of the world taking advantage of girls who are vulnerable.
