Type R and VTEC owners

Had some window tints today. 70% for the side windows and 30% for the rear. Didn't want to go too dark as I think it only looks good on dark cars.

It's weird from a distance the tint is only very slight, but if your close up it's really noticeable, different lights and angles.

Some people say they look more like 50% :) Car wasn't really clean in these shots.

looks pretty tidy? or is that photoshop trickery :p

lmao, I just think pressed plates are more suited to VAG cars!

Well.... My front left is very vag after today. Took a big pothole on that side whilst traversing a loch and trying to get past a spasface Ibiza.

I now have about 3 degree camber on that side. Easy fix tomorrow though before another run into the Scotland's highkands. :D

Just got a renewal quote from Admiral for £524 for my 05 Type-R. Being 21 is there any hope getting this cheaper from the specialist insurers such as Adrian Flux?

I have forgotten the rest so could someone kindly post a list of a few to try?

I am 30 with 9 years no claims, I am with admiral, but due for renewal this month.

They wanted £70 per month to insure a 2002 type r.

Price comparison sites for me fully comp with ~300 excess was about 550 a year at best.

I think that's a good deal, if its fully comp ofc. That or I am being mugged off.

Its fully comp with 150 voluntary excess £250 compulsory, 6000 miles (leisure and commuting) and 2 named drivers (Mum and Nan).

Been driving 4 years and have 3 years no claims.

I live in a good postcode, but i would be lying if i said i wasn't surprised by the quote.

Is it worth calling around?

Always worth calling AF, Greenlight etc. Can't guarantee they'll beat it but they normally try. Think Admiral were cheapest of the price-comparison sites last time I was looking, and Greenlight managed to knock another 50 quid or so off. It can also help to sign up to whichever civic forums have member insurance schemes.

Called around all the others, they couldn't get close. Seems like it was a very good quote so I have gone with it.

Maybe next year I can knock a couple off.
