Type R and VTEC owners

Car is being returned to standard when I get a date from garage. Time for something a bit more 'grown up' but has to have some fun at least. Had a 2h journey and the rattles and creaks and vibrations did my head in.

The rattles and creaks are part of the experiance :D

You have to blank them out though :o

What bits are you gonna sell Noxia? Could be interested in some items :D

I took the rear 'Civic' badge off my FN2 today, as it was started to come off at one end slightly anyway, and I had been pondering taking it off as I thought it would look a bit cleaner with just the Type R badge on there. I took it off, cleaned all the sticky stuff off and gave it a bit of a polish but the paint that was under the badge seems slightly lighter than that around it? I've used a bit of Auto glym paint restorer and scratch X on it, but theres still a faint sort of 'shadow' in the paint :(

Everything except the Mugen rear and spoiler. So TDI North/AAS XO Manifold, CPL CAI, Meercat custom exhaust and that's about all the mods I did :)
Oh and Flash Pro of course.

Should have mentioned, want to up the power as well so looking 300 minimum. DC5 wouldn't satisfy me without modding. Saw a nice 350z on Pistonheads, I know it's not turbo but never seen one like it.

Do like the newer MPS BUT I really hate 5 door hatchbacks. I was gutted when I found the MPS didn't come in 3 door otherwise it would have been bought over the FN2.

350z is quite heavy and lazy. Could try a Mazda 3 MPS.

Mazda 3 MPS Kerb weight: 1460 kg

Nissan 350z Coupe Kerb weight: 1525kg

65kg difference, then take into consideration the 350z's extra power. Which is at least 16BHP for an early model and 49BHP with the last 313ps model.

I never understand why people say they are lazy, it has an N/A V6 with a smooth power delivery.

Exactly, they're a GT car built for relaxing cruise, you'll do better to shift up at peak torque than the red line. Not that you can't red line it, but it's not as rewarding as a Honda for example.

For balance you really need to post the same question in the Clio owners thread too. :)

exactly.

however, when I was considering the 182, I ended up buying a Fiesta ST.
I preferred it at the time. sure the clio has more power and it's much a bit faster, but I was glad I went for the ST.
Mrs rjk has a 1.2 clio the same shape as the 182 and it is a diabolical place to sit and the build quality is atrocious. sure if you're after out and out performance, none of that matters but its something I took into account.

I certainly wouldn't consider one over my EP3.

you will get told this wherever you post: "Drive both and pick the one that you prefer"

You're always going to get a Honda skewed opinion in here, but then again that might be why you posted the question here. Like Jonny says, sounds like you've already made your mind up anyway.

I liked my first EP3, but I had to sell it. I liked my DC2, but it was getting a little long in the tooth and the itch was scratched. So I bought another EP3, coming from a DC2 which arguably is the better driver's car I still get great amounts of enjoyment from the Civic. Admittedly it's got Eibachs, FRSU etc. and the first was bone stock, but they are superb cars for the money and well maintained are fairly bomb proof.

I can't think of another car in the price point I'd own tbh.
