Type R and VTEC owners

Engine is perfect, no noises, no crunching from gears or anything. I took the car for test drive before. The service history is all Honda and its got tons of Honda paperwork aswell along with original reciept from when the car was new.

I know about my EP3's but this is the first FN2 that I'm buying. Is it still worth getting for £4200 if I can make some money on it? Cheapest FN2 on Auto trader is £5500 with 137k on it and thats not even GT so I do think this is worth it

So long as there isnt something wrong that they are hiding then thats a bargain. Most 07 GTs with sub 70k miles, FSH, good body work (ie warranty repairs for paint etc complete) are around £6500-7000.

Buy it, sell it on.

I'm getting the car from my mate so no hidden surprises, just the bodywork has the age related stone chips and marks and scuffs on it but I'm thinking of buying the car and selling it on for a quick profit. I'm sure its worth £5000 as it is :)

Been enquiring about a few Premier EP3's, really really tempted as I need a bit more power lol.

What price would we be putting on a 55 plate on about 60k as mint as I can find? 5500 is enough I think!!

Saw you earlier Rich, you were infront of me heading towards Blurton, was in my Fiesta. Trust you pick the slippiest roundabout to start playing on :) What exhausts on yours? Full system inc manifold/decat? It's quite loud!

I thought it was you mate. Fiesta looks good on those wheels.

Stopping at my mums for a few weeks whilst my house sale goes through so it means I get to play on the Stanley Matthews round abouts on the way home. :D

Exhaust is an standard Mani with a cat. R8byb 2.5" bpipe and spoon N1. It would be murder with a race manifold on.

Bad decision eh getting rid of yours :), what car did you end up getting in replace of it?

I'm just after an RYBYB midpipe, hoping Areamotorsport get some more in soon.

I didn't have much choice at the time as where I was working went bump and it wasn't too sensible owning a Type R which was soon due tyres and a clutch due to miles with no income lol.

I had a cheap MK4 Astra 2.2 SRi for a bit but I've got a Fiesta ST at the moment on AP coilovers, milltek downpipe, custom centre pipe, Piper backbox, mountune CAIS but its only about 160-162BHP tops so it's not quite got the same go as the Civic. Handles really nicely though if you're in the mood and drives lovely. But Civic was a bit more practical being bigger and of course vtec is like a drug now I know I've not got it!

Yeah good roundabouts there on Stanley Matthews Way :D I live in Blurton as you'll have gathered lol so it's my regular blat home whenever I'm coming southbound off the D road :)

Why not consider an EP3 for potentially less issues? Even the newest ATR's are old cars.

Having driven both, I much prefer the ATR. The chassis is so stiff, I like the handling and like the option of having 5 doors. Having had one previously, I do want one again, but as a weekend car.

Presumably because of the budget? £2k will get a semi-reasonable ATR. £2k will not get you an EP3 anywhere near worth owning

I've been watching the market and £2k will get you a tidy one. It's difficult to say though as I paid £2k for my last one and lost out major. Body wise it was fantastic, engine wise it was also great, gearbox was shot though. It was a ticking time bomb. Wouldn't pay that much for one now.

They are rather old so will require maintenance, I'm just going to see what I can find. I may get a bargain.

Service is slightly overdue :o

I've done less than 6k miles though.. so It's time not milleage. I'm tempted to try some Millers Nanodrive oil, should I get a Shortie Hamp filter? or a regular one?

Regular. Put a shortie on my car didn't notice much of a difference. Apparently, they're meant to build more oil pressure for VTEC.
