Type R and VTEC owners

Hey guys, what is the general consensus on EP3 type R's? I've heard from numerous people that they are great cars to drive, the only thing am concerned with is they're 'chavvy' image they've brought on themselves over the past couple of years, shame really because you can find nice ones for £3~£4k :/

I think they have dropped that image now, a nice standard looking one looks great

Yea definitely, as mentioned above you can't really find a better hatch for the price, might look at some of later face lifted models, ideally don't wanna stretch past 50k mileage, prepared to spend more for this along with fsh

I know its expensive but is it a rip off?

I wouldn't mind a prefacelift one but it would have to be mint and standard.

I may be out of touch with current prices, but even if that's mint it seems very expensive to me...

That's far too expensive for a 12-year old EP3 in a pre-facelift guise in Silver.

I hate facelifts. And whilst red and black look good when new, they all seem to look tired. Red fade badly and black shows swirlmarks and scratches bad!

Sold the car and the recaros for £4300. Not quite what I wanted but it will do.
Not bad considering I paid £4500 for it two years ago.

He is picking it up this week

I threw the recaros into help with the sale. Bit crap as I could easily get £500+ for them but it helped the sale for sure.

Should have stuck the old seats in, seems you got a little desperate. If he was umming and arring, then throw the Recaros in to sweeten the deal. Then you may have got asking price.

Here's the little pocket rocket I was talking about. Not bad for an 02 with 140k is it? Doesn't seem to be any paint fade anywhere.
