Type R and VTEC owners

My ultimate car would be a K20'd elise/exige
:D

I've owned a DC2, S2000 and the current steed.

Honda fans help me!

Does anyone know if theres a difference between and ukdm and a jdm TD44U Distributor?
The one on my eg6 ukdm vti died and so bought a recon'd one, same unit number but have been told its from a jdm sir del sol.
Recon dizzy has been fitted but then engine wont start, will run briefly if the timing is advanced right forward but wont run for long. Mechanic said everything checks out right and doesn't think the cam has skipped a tooth so i'm wondering if the dizzy is different being a jdm on a ukdm engine ?

How do you know it was the distributor that died? They won't die unless you hit something against them or crack the housing. It would more likely be a coil pack or the leads.

Are those AD08's on the Elise? If so, what are you opinions on them?
Better than the R1R I've used before, turn in is sharper with more feel and they should last a bit longer as they start with a few mm more tread.

You're my actual hero!

How do you find the K20 in it, i've heard its a pretty night and day difference from the toyota lump.

Also is that a supercharger?
Yeah it's night and day different, I have the peak torque of the Toyota (7/8Krpm) at 3K in this and it has at least 20bhp more at any point of the rev range and that gets bigger the higher the revs :)
Also weighs at least 100kg less than the Exige I had before.

Yup that's a supercharger :D

Sounded like someone was rubbing two stones together within the dizzy and couldnt get a spark. Has it open and its was shagged

I got my FNate hen I was 21 years old. I LOVeD that car. Due to various reasons I now drive a vw passat. Although its a good motorway cruiser I don't think I've ever actually wanted to get in the car and go for a drive for no reason :(

I miss just smiling and loving the vtec. It's addictive.

I WILL have another vtec engine like that in the not to distant future. I'm waiting to see what the new type r is going to be like

Well here is mine, I'm sure MilanoChris may recognise it. ;) Certainly finding it good fun, only problem now is I do lots of motorway which it isn't the most suited for!

It's straight forward to do it yourself though the tensioner can be tricky. As for a specialist round your area if you want a garage to do it, maybe a jaunt up the M6 to TDI North in Warrington? If you go, say hello to Paul for me.
