Type R and VTEC owners

Unfortunately it would require quite a few stickers! Went through a wooden / barbed wire fence sideways / backwards. So many scratches!

ice?! At this time of year?

Scotland, Mid/West Lothian at midnight. It was a bad combination and I was doing 35 in a 40! Just completely the wrong gear to try and even get out of it, let alone even expecting ice to be around! Looking back over the scene I concluded it was most likely a manhole cover that was a little sunken, so probably had some standing water on that easily froze. :(

Insurance in all their wisdom wanted to Cat D the car. I politely cancelled the claim and will be fixing next-to everything myself and then sticking it in a bodyshop for the last few bits and paintwork!

*EDIT* It was also a month ago when there was quite a cold spell!

Drove mine into a lamppost. Fail

If you don't knock the post out of the ground you're not even trying mate.

As for rjk's wing....I think it looks okay with the hardtop, rubbish with the roof down. I cant help but think a BGW always looks a bit out of place unless the rest of the car is equally wild, if it looks like a time attack car then fine, otherwise I'd save your money towards alignment stuff, suspension, wheels or engine bits. A big wing to finish off your 'because race car' look, yes, but on an an otherwise standard looking car I dont think it works.

I'd agree to be honest. Although I've always loved the standard look of the S2ks anyway. But that's good money towards other things that probably will need doing!

Hello,

Potentially interested in going to view this Accord.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2005-55-HONDA-ACCORD-2-0-i-VTEC-TYPE-S-87K-BLACK-/231203661409?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item35d4cfe661#ht_3073wt_1141

I can see the drivers side headlight is suffering from condensation, how big of a problem is this?

What would be a good price too to pay?

Well they didn't accept the bid of £3150, went in with £3k initially too. £3750 was their best price. Maybe if it had a few less miles and was graphite grey I would buy it.

Why are Accord Type S' demanding such high premiums?

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201404243635347 - 9 years old £4.5K!

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201404163379611 - 8 years £5.5k!

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201404253667763 - 7 years £6.5k!!!

The equivalent Mondeo is much cheaper, just a shame I do not like them one bit.

I love a stupid JDM y0 BGW as much as the next guy, but that CR thing looks absolutely pants and you'd be bats**t to spend that ludicrous amount on one.

I didn't like it at first. In honesty, it wasn't my first choice but as mentioned it is OEM rather than aftermarket. The look of it has really grown on me recently and I think a huge J's or Voltex wing would look immense but as Will mentioned, would look a bit daft on a relatively standard car. I love the look of the cars that Evasive and Amuse put out but they are no holds barred track cars and can pull off a huge spoiler well.

The CR is pretty much a standard power S2000 with weight saving, track focus and suspension mods. the JDM Type S is the same as the CR but retains the soft top.
So both cars that sport this wing style are only as powerful as a standard S2000. I dont really like the lip spoiler as everyone has one and they are all clearly off ebay. The OEM high level is quite nice looking in my opinion, but only available for £500+ in white only. I think the CR will suit the car, plus its rare

Simon/rjkoneill. Do you drive your S2000 through the winter or do you have second/company cars?

I live a six minute walk away from work so the S stays on my drive.
plus I have only owned my car since January and this winter was pretty warm.

Simon is probably the best person to give insight here.

£3750? I reckon they'd take £3.5k if you really are wiling to spend that much.

Yeah it's £500 quid over budget, but if the car is decent enough and doesn't require any work being done to it in the next year or so, then to me it's worth it. No point spending £3k only to have £££ work done to it afterwards. Go view it, barter on price, look for scuffs, damage to underbody, wear/tear items and see how much you can knock them down.

They are great cars the 7th gen, they seem to have gone up a bit actually, don't expect them to fall either, especially since there is no new Accord generation on the books to come to the UK ever again, so they will be in demand which will keep prices up.

I would laugh at you if you offered 3.1k if that was my Accord.
