Type R and VTEC owners

Yeah I was looking at the petrol Type R, but that puts me back to chewing thru fuel :p

The one I test drove was a 59plate 1.8 Type S GT and was 6.5k from a local dealer. Decided to have a search when I got home which indicates that 07/08 plates can be had considerably cheaper.

Had a read over on civinfo and apepars the 2.2 Diseasel ones are pretty popular.

Really like the interior on the Type R, but really cba using that much fuel any longer, figure a Type S, with a little remap and possibly a pair of Type R front seats will do me. Apparantly ~180bhp is well doable with the remap befoire changing cluth or anythign like that.

Just the 1.8 seemed a little underpowered when I test drive it tbh
I mean the 1.8 not a Type R. Don't go putting seats or anything in it, keep it standard.

May also be two separate issues, ARB drop link and ABS speed sensor for example. As above, get the code read, it's free (look on YouTube/TRO for guides), then raise the car up and use a rubber mallet and hit the suspension components etc and see if anything is moving or making a noise. A knackered drop link should be easy to spot.

Some JAE prep going on this week. :)

These are from the detailer, I haven't seen the car in the flesh since dropping it off on Sunday afternoon. The machine polish has been done, now wax and interior.

Will get the hard top done later on this year and have him give the car a pre winter top up etc at the time.

Some quick pics taken this evening, I would have loved to find a nice spot somewhere but I'm fast running out of time to get sorted for JAE. Gives you an idea, the car is super shiny and the paint is the smoothest I've felt. Plus it smells great.

Washed, clayed, machine polished, waxed/sealed.

It's still in its box waiting to be fitted. I may do it this evening to be honest. I've also got the JDM mats to go on and Spoon engine/gearbox mount kit when I get it into a garage.

Looks good, although I think silver wheels would stand out better.

Have you fitted braces to it yet? Probably more useful than the spoon brakes and engine mounts (hope they don't vibrate too much)

Strut braces? Or under body braces? I'm getting some Eibach ARBs fitted soon. Spoon engine mounts because the manifold is touching the steering column during hard left turns, hopefully the stiffer mounts fix it. They're not solid like other kits so should be fine, we shall see.

Will have a look this evening or in the morning. Mine's got the normal S2000 mats in so I've been in no rush. But thinking about it, the new ones cost me £160 I think and they've been in the box since they were delivered so maybe it's about time to get them in the car!

Hmm shed. I need a shed, big enough to fit my hardtop, wheels and the rest of the crap I have in my garage, so that I can actually fit the S2000 in there. :D

Braces like the underbody X brace for front and rear - makes a huge difference

Top strut brace is less effective but brightens things up.

Master cylinder brace is also recommended

Once I get the manifold sorted and I've done a few track days I'll see how it goes then. There's no decent master cylinder brace for the facelift.

Fitted the mats, pics following. Amber performance sent me the wrong intake hose however. Again.
