Type R and VTEC owners

Does it look like the back of the car has had new paint and the rest is dull? Or do the door and front wing not match up with anything else?

well I come back to the thread and my lights are up for debate :p

bizzare. I assumed they were xenons for 2 reasons.

reason 1 is that the advert stated it.
reason 2 is that the headlights actually do look like xenons.

I stand corrected if they are not. but if those bulbs go, I will be taking them out, checking them and buying some more because they are damn good.

Easy check, is there a ballast or not?

the only issue is that with new MOT regulations hid kits are going to start causing a failure because they dont have self leveling & washer features which are mandatory now i beleive, although i might be wrong...

All it says in the regs is that if washers and levellers are fitted they must work. There is no mention of cars with HID kits requiring washers and levellers though.

Straight out of the VOSA 2012 manual.

Which pads are on it? Still them Ferodo street ones? Remember the lines are 13 years old, so it might be worth investing in some braided lines and also getting the fluid changed unless you've done the fluid yourself.

I had a look on Pistonheads the other day, decent condition UKDM DC2's are still going for way over 4 grand, they're holding their value really well.

They are hovering between £2.5 and £3.5 for that sort of mileage. Depending on the condition it could be a good buy.

Just make sure the steering rack isn't noisy, the clutch has been changed and the tensioner checked along with the usual.

Worn clutches will give notchy gear changes but won't slip. They tend to go around 70k miles, all depends on the driver though.

My DC5 clutch became notchy at 50k miles and it was still fine at 86k miles but I knew it needed changing. Due to the relatively low torque compared to a turbo'd car, you are less likely to get any slip from it when it's worn unlike what you get on Evo's etc.

A friend noticed his was slightly notchy and changed the clutch at 55k miles, he said the difference was like night and day.

You make it sound like there's something wrong with the ATR when there's not.

My reasoning is that I no longer drive my car to work so I could probably put up with the DC2 this time round lol.

What's wrong with you, I put up with your old DC2 on the motorway. :D

lol

Remember the red P reg Civic Tank that was parked outside? It's the GFs car and I use that to drive to work, she gets the tube into London. So the ATR is becoming a weekend car, and it's a bit too practical for that.

Ah, you mean the DC2. Hmm, there may be a Tegiwa intake on it I think. I'm waiting on insurance quotes before I decide.

Might help with the 2nd gear issue? I know it mentions 3rd...

No no, the Accord is a lovely car, but it's no sexy DC2 :D

I'd probably get an accord if I needed more space and carriying capacity, keep the DC2 as a track bitch to rape around and buying something special for the road.

Get pics up when you can!

I'll get pics up if I buy it!

If it's too good to be true, it usually is. I asked the JDM owner if the car had any marks. One he replied, a parking incident where the wing has been slightly pushed back. Naturally I asked for pictures:

I'm not going to post what I think yet, just wondering what OcUK think. If you think the same as me, I won't be buying it...

First off, look at the rubber at the top of the light. That isn't right. There's also touch up or overspray, the bumper isn't sat right and there's a shaded area around the light. Looks like it's been poorly repaired to me.
