Type R and VTEC owners

It sounds like the car needs more spending than what it's worth to keep it going, is it worth it?

ATR's are nice cars, but long in the tooth now. Saying that, finding a decent one is hard work.

Bodywork and alloys being sorted as well as work needed for MOT I think I'd be around 1k. Be gutted to see it scrapped and its been such a good car, just seem to have had an unlucky time with it.

If I was going the cheap run around route would be a mondeo/focus for under a grand. Viewing a couple of FN2's on Monday, never even sat in one before so I'm interested to find out what they are like and if they are really as bad as some folk try and make out.

Are those holes on the rear bumper? Because racecar?

What are your plans for this one? :)

Yes! Racecar:p.

The previous owner bought the car a few years ago and started prepping it for track use hence the holes in the rear bumper etc but he never went ahead with it and the cars been sat unused in his garage for the last year or so. It's a bit high mileage but it's been very well looked after, all Honda service history, New timing chain fitted by Honda last year and the car is very clean for it's age.

My plan is to put it back to it's formal glory and use it as a daily run around as I'm planning on stripping my Super charged FN2 and put it back to standard, sell that off and move on a E92 M3. This car should be finished in a week or two. May even keep it for a future K24 Frankestein project

Looking to book the S2000 in for a new roof - any recommendations?

And no, not the guy in Swansea after spending a lot of time reading reviews.

Guy in Swansea.... :D

I used him, everything worked out a-okay for me. Otherwise it would have been monsoon who were almost 3x the price but have a good reputation (albeit a few bad reviews also iirc)

£6.3k sounds better, not sure I could get £7k on my car which is two years newer (but no nav)

Clearances at 75k along with box fluid and fuel filter from memory. It only has an aux belt so it's not particularly important.

Most important bodywork check is for the rust along the roof to widscreen edge as Honda are becoming awkward about fixing this. At the money I'd want it to have an impeccable history and reasonably recent front end respray too

Car was very tidy and a well sorted history evidenced with stamps and receipts, mostly indy Honda specialists. Unfortunately it is suffering from rust at the windscreen, clearly not been treated. I take it is Honda dealer discretion if they still carry out the work? Would they even do it for a 57 plate car?

Front end was resprayed recently, alloys in near perfect condition. Haggled with him down to £6250.

I'd be the 6th owner which is rather off putting however I did manage to find out about the car through the Civinfo forums, the 4 previous owners have all been active members on there and has clearly been looked after.

Not entirely convinced, the rust is really putting me off. Got an 51 plate EP3 viewing lined up tonight, 2 owner car, FSH totally standard with 98k. Listed for £2800, hoping I can get him to £2500 or lower.

Also going to view a facelift 2002 1.6 ghia focus saloon, 2 owner car, 85k with FSH for 800 quid. It would probably be the sensible option for now....but maaaan is it fugly!

I'm still confused as to why you didn't take it back to the dealer you purchased it from..

Because I rather get Honda to deal with any issues which may be there. Dealer was adamant that Honda's sound like that. So if there are issues with the car, Honda will let me know and I will pass the information on to the warranty company to deal with. They can foot the bill.

Monsoon is hell of a trip away from me.

Someone on the S2000 forum recommended these:
http://www.softtops.org.uk/index.htm

They quoted me £945 fitted, which half makes me want to use the Swansea guy and hope for a decent fit.

I would say go to Monsoon as I was more than happy with mine. But thinking about the drive from Gloucester you'd be looking at an overnight stay.
There's no way I'd drive down there. Get it fitted. Then drive back.
They started fitting mine at 9am and finished at 5pm. That would be a VERY long day with 3+ hours driving either side!
